Yeah, so the creep factor just increased tenfold. I'm suddenly reminded of that scene in Jurassic Park where the guy with the shotgun realizes the Velociraptors are working together to set a trap for him.

Don't worry Maz, I'm pretty sure Diglett is a bottom and I'm more interested in that as well so setting traps is a little more complicated.
Assuming you don't simply stick your ***** into every available hole.

I'm versatile. And with the amount of time Mazra spends inebriated, I wonder how many holes he HASN'T tried to put his ***** in.

He just doesn't remember.

Yes, I think so. How's it feel having the tables turned on ya? Smiley: grin

Also, I need help from someone who is good at math. I'm trying to calculate how much crit I need on my mage to be at the shatter cap. I have a formula for most of it, but I'm stuck at the last step. So, the percentage of crit I need to be shatter capped is 27.47%, or we could round up to 27.5%. Now, considering it takes 179.28 crit to increase your crit by 1%, how do I figure out how much crit rating I need? I tried [179.28*27.5] and that produced too high a number. So then I tried [179.28*.275] and that produced too low a number. It should be somewhere in the 1800-2000 range, give or take one or two hundred, because the shatter cap I had before my last upgrade was 1870. With more intellect, it should theoretically be lower- I think.

Have I mentioned that I hate math?

You could always forget about maths, roll aracane, use 3-4 abilities, and put out better numbers than frost.

You aren't including crit from Int.

Or I could stick with frost and play a spec I enjoy playing instead of being bored to tears.

I get **** enough from my guildies for playing frost, despite the fact that it is a viable spec. I don't need **** from you too Rio. Smiley: tongue

Actually I am Horse. Here is a link to the formula I used to get the 27.47% number. I only have one crit buff, so we have to take 8 points of crit out of the formula. Int from Kings, flask and food is included too.

Actually you are doing the math all wrong.

You need 33%, if I recall, crit for Shatter cap. So you need 33% crit from crit rating + Int + talents.

You have 7.79% from Int(5052), +3% from PI, and 10.94% from crit rating(1961) for a total of 21.73%. Either way because of talents you only need 30% crit rating.

So that reduces your rating burden as you also have raid buffs when raiding. We will assume a rough 6% crit increase between AI and the 5% crit buff that many classes bring. So you only need to hit 24% crit unbuffed for Shatter cap.

As you currently have 7.79% Int crit we will assume that is static. That pushes you down to 16.21% crit needed from rating. That means you need 2906 crit rating to be Shatter cappped.

You are currently at 1961 crit rating. Ergo you need ~945 more crit rating to be capped.

Math, I do it when I'm drunk.

Well, technically it's 33.4% as it's 33.333% repeating. Arcane Brilliance no longer counts, as it increases max mana and SP, not intellect. Which is weird, I don't know why they changed that. But you are definitely right about PI! I'll have to point that out to Critrocket and see if he's accounting for that in the formula, because it definitely doesn't look like it. Also, I use Molten Armor with the glyph, so that's an extra 5% I get. You're also missing the intellect from flask and food.

So intellect is 5442 with flask and food, with an extra 5% from Kings that makes it 5714 Int. So how much crit do I get from that much intellect?

I get 3% crit from PI, 5% from raid buffs, and 5% from my armor spell.

But yeah, this is why I need a formula or something to help me figure this out. Because every damn time I get an upgrade with more int or crit on it (which is almost any upgrade excluding some trinkets), how much crit I need changes. >.<

33-3-5-5=20

So you need 20% crit from Int and rating. You have 7.79% from Int (5052 is what I am using as you never gave me Int->Crit conversions). So that gives 12.21% needed from rating or ~2189 crit rating to cap. So you should add 228 rating to cap as you are currently at 1961 as of now again assuming 5052 Int. But you have 5442 Int which is probably ~1% crit or ~179 crit rating. I don't feel like checking the Int->Crit ratio as I am lazy.

So in the end you probably need closer to 125 crit rating to cap.

(BaseIntellect+390/648.91)+(CritRating/179.28) = 20

390 is the amount of Int gained from flask and food buff
648.91 is the amount of Int for 1% crit
179.28 is the amount of crit rating for 1% crit

Assumes PI (+3% crit), 5% raid crit buff and 5% crit buff from MA glyph

Slightly over is better as the 20 is really 20.3...3

I really really suck at math, and I will need to get better at it because I plan on going to uni of applied sciences to study automation technology at some point.

Stop talking about Mages! They're my weakness--if any class has the chance to bring me back, it's Mage...

Well, it used to be DK, but they destroyed the class.
