Because the embedding was giving me trouble.

Try embedding 54 youtube clips, that wouldn't be a good idea.

Not that I linked anything either, I'm lazy n stuff.

Not worried, seeing as you seem to be one of those resilient people who bounces back from stuff. Smiley: wink

Do I? It sure doesn't feel like that sometimes.

For the same reason sometimes I link pictures instead of embedding them.

It'd only be 5 grand for me.

You may receive up to $5,000 in loan forgiveness if you were a highly qualified full-time elementary or secondary school teacher.

You may receive up to $17,500 in loan forgiveness if, as certified by the Chief Administrative Officer of the school where you were employed, you were:

A highly qualified full-time mathematics or science teacher in an eligible secondary school; or
A highly qualified special education teacher whose primary responsibility was to provide special education to children with disabilities, and you taught children with disabilities that corresponded to your area of special education training and have demonstrated knowledge and teaching skills in the content areas of the curriculum that you taught.

I want to be an English teacher, so I get punished because science and math teachers are in higher demand. Too bad I hate math and really only like Biology out of the sciences. I already knew about that program, but thanks for the heads up Astarin. Smiley: smile

Also, I meant to post earlier that I talked to my friend earlier this evening, and his offer for me to stay with him for a while is still up. So I won't be homeless. =x Downsides are it's a good deal farther away from campus than where I am now, and he warned me that he's a nudist at home (really don't want to see that, but oh well), but it's definitely better than nothing. Didn't want people worrying about me. Smiley: grin

Given the sheer butchery of the English language I see by native speakers, on forums and at the college where I'm taking some classes, good English teachers seem to be needed as well.
#9683 Sep 13 2011 at 4:37 PM Rating: Good
Oh they definitely are. But it's a supply vs. demand thing. All teachers are needed, especially in trouble schools like the ones you get loan credit for where teacher turn over is so high. But Science and Math teachers are more in demand, probably in part due to women being discouraged from the math and science fields, but encouraged to become teachers. Men are encouraged to go into math and science fields, but not really encouraged to become teachers. These are some of the issues gender roles and sexism cause in our society.

I'm glad I went the science route. Male science teachers are in demand at the moment here.

Edit: Plus, doing experiments on with students is more fun than grammar.

Teaching literature is more fun than grammar too, which is what I'm really interested in. If you get people interested in reading, learning how to spell and how to write well begins to come naturally. Worked for me anyways.

Welcome to the OoT?

Although I have to say I don't understand why those posts were rated down.

Reading is where I learned most of my English. I started reading Enlish at 5 years old, at least, I still have a dinosaur book in English that I got way back then. I couldn't actually read or understand much aside from numbers and words that looked like Dutch words but I still pretended to read the whole book Smiley: grin

If you like craft beer you're welcome here. It's not like half of us even play WoW anyway.

I barely play now. Haven't done much beyond get my Ravencrest alt to level 8 in the last few weeks. I do have a friend visiting for the month before he goes Korea to teach English so been hanging out with him instead of messing around on WoW lately.
