I think the girl Idiggory linked is way hotter than the other one.

See, I think the thing with Pak families is that I actually really like the idea of not having any financial pressure on me. I don't think I'd do all that well with the way women are expected to act in public, but it's kind of balanced out by the fact that it's the other way around at home.

I have no idea.

I'm on a bit of a white privilege trip, it's kind of strange for everyone to treat you like you're some sort of ... overly awesome person just because you treat them like an equal. Basically what I'm doing at the moment is so anti-colonial mindset, people don't do it. I do know my more... articulate, well-educated Pakistani friends think it's awesome and weird. And doesn't make sense.
I don't even know. I don't think I really treat them like equals. I'm just all "you guys are awesome!" \o/, which is probably better than that.

Also, yeah, digg's Misty was cuter.

I don't know that that's being on a "white privilege trip" for treating them like you think they're awesome. :-) Sounds like the exact opposite to me.

Oh, no, you have to realise that those people have this colonial mindset. They tend to treat white people like we're superior. It can be a bit strange sometimes. I don't see why I should feel that way, but treating them like equals and wanting to learn their languages is something white people don't do, and they really seem to appreciate it.

In South Asia, English is the language used by the upper classes and no one expects you to speak any of their languages, generally. They usually expect other brown people to at least understand Hindi, but that's about it.

I can't change the way they treat me; my more educated South Asian friends tend to be people I prefer because they're not as much restrained by this mindset, but they still think it's really awesome that I can speak a bit of Urdu and get all worked up over the fact that I use it in everyday conversation with them. Somewhere between "Oh god, I haven't heard anyone say that in so long, thank you!" and "Ahhh, it's so funny/adorable/admirable when you speak Urdu <3333". I mean, I get the same thing when I speak Dutch, it's just more pronounced this time around.

That reminds me. Sony debuted a 3D TV that, instead of using split-screen, would display two full-screen images that the glasses would filter out, so each player only saw their own. That's... crazy.

Every 3d tv can do this, it's just taking two full screen images and aligning them to the same polarized lens. What will be impressive is if they can do this and still make both screens 3d...I don't think it's possible.

Also, It's 8:30, I've just finished a ten hour shift at work, and all I want to do is play Black Ops, and the god damned servers are down. FML

You see that so much in American politics. Except that it's the white people congratulating themselves on being so awesome as to help the other peoples. SIGH.

And my Misty totally was.

This is a crazy situation, but I need help.

I dated this girl several years ago, and we had to break up due to a list of reasons. It was a mutual break up, and we tried to stay friends, but it was way too difficult for the both of us to do so because we believed we were perfect for each other in every way possible and we couldn't be just friends. So we went our separate ways and dated other people. In fact, I got married and have a daughter. I kept comparing every girl I dated, and recently even my wife, to this girl. It always feel awkward, like they're all wrong to be with.

So I started talking to her again a couple of weeks ago and I told her about the situation and she said it was the same for her. We can't keep out of each others minds. She told me that right now she's staying single for now because she doesn't want to be hurt by any more guys. I asked her if she wanted to try being friends again and she said "That would be the absolute best thing ever!"

We hung out a couple of days ago at the lake, as friends. I don't want to ruin anything between us because I really want her in my life, even if it's just as friends. All I want to do is see her happy, even if I'm miserable. After about three years of not dating her, I can honestly say I still love her, just because of how perfect we are for each other.

So my question is: Should I buy Weird Al's new album, Alpocalypse?

Weird Al isn't all that special. One of the only things I've ever seen him do that impressed me was him singing Alberquerque live, flawlessly.

I like Weird Al.
Changing subjects, if you like Peter Parker, there is a webcomic you should read:

http://punyparker.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2008-09-12T23%3A05%3A00-03%3A00&max-results=50

It's not exactly Peter Parker, rather an homage towards him. It has both portuguese and english version and it's been posted since 2008. Worth a read. I love it.
Oh, and it's finished, last chapter was realeased this week.

pretty awesome, imo.

First time I discovered this comic I spent 4 hours at work reading it.
I was bored as hell.

This one has been my favorite so far, only because it eludes to an old cartoon that I used to watch and loved. Its really the subtle jokes that I enjoy the most.

Seriously Digg, you need to go watch this. Before, I was just a casual Weird Al fan. Now, I think the man is freaking brilliant. Every single sentence in that song is a palindrome. You at lest have to respect him for having the intelligence to put something like that together.

It's not just his lyrics. His knowledge of composition, musical style, sound theory...it's all really incredible. If you can, find some behind the scenes footage of him in the studio. It's a much better look at the kind of brainpower that he personally invests into those albums.

At least it's better than the stupid easter one. >______<

My DK is 84, though, so I might hit cap early enough to fight Ahune. Too bad my Mage is only 82 or 83, though. I couldn't stand leveling him anymore, because I hate the Horde this expac. Every quest was all "FOR GARROSH" and I was like "NO."
