I'm confused how the innervate change will fix anything? All they did was nerf the amount non-druids receive from the spell, no? I'd wager it would still be standard practice to largely give it to healers for the health of the group, even if the reward is less.

In the end, it boils down to Blizzard not acknowlodging that Solar is way stronger than Lunar, not acknowlodging that Eclipsed state is far more stronger than it should be comparing to non eclipsed state and not acknowlodging that we need a way to actually do AoE damage and movement damage while in Lunar.
If they did this, and actually fixed the problem and not the symptom, I would be rather happy.
The way they are doing, they are not fixing anything.
I will sill multi-dot, I will still hold time on Solar, I will still only be able to AoE on Solar, Lunar will sill be crap, un-eclipsed state will be even crappier and Hurricane will still be utterlly useless.
So...what changed?

Even in that case scenario, it still brings about their desired result, which is a decrease in the amount of damage a Boomkin can do while moving. Either you take lunar shower and spam a high-damage moonfire and lose eclipse, or you don't take it and spam a low-damage moonfire with eclipse. End result is still a net drop in damage.

Well, they said damage while moving was only a part of the reason.

to cut back on some of their strength in multi-dot fights in PvE. Furthermore, we felt like druids were spending too much time at one end or the other of the Eclipse bar by using dots rather than moving the bar back and forth as intended.

All the other reasons wont change a bit.

Still, not taking the talent will remove the buff to Sunfire/Moonfire making it weakier and dropping our dps a bit, yes, very true. Still, if I'm in Solar, my dps while moving will be way higher than in any other case, wich is the actual problem. The problem isnt the damage while I move. The problem is that Solar is so freacking stronger than any other state.

It's like the difference between normal Saiyan and Super Saiyan, lol.

They should have just given Rogues gigantic, one-handed katanas and gun-arms then.

I'd like to clear something up. I did NOT switch to shadow priest because of the insane damage we can do. That's definitely a perk, but it's not the reason. I decided to switch because it is much easier to do consistent dps, and because I'm better at shadow priest than I am boomkin. The basic mechanics of the two classes are pretty much the same, high damage DoTs with lower powered nukes as filler. Although they're changing that in 4.2 as well. Apparently Blizz really doesn't like multi-dotting lol. What is amusing, is that a very small fraction of the player base is skilled enough to pull off multi-dotting. They're punishing the players who are above average, as the change in damage to the DoTs and nukes will make no difference for the shadow priests who don't multi-dot. It really is a shame, because I'm just getting the hang of it finally, and once 4.2 hits there won't be any point to it.

Unless I am mistaken, the change in damage for shadow DoTs will also affect our damage/dps on movement fights too. Typically what we do for those phases is keep up DoTs, and spam Devouring Plague and SWD, pausing when we can to stop and cast a Mind Blast to keep Empowered Shadows up and to recast Vampiric Touch. Although, I don't really see it so much as a nerf to shadow priest as I do to Moonkin. It's more like a class re-design if anything else. Although that may be because of how much Moonkin frustrated me. =x

I just couldn't get into Shadow Priest. Granted, I've never played one at high level, but I just never enjoyed leveling them. The shadow orb thing at least made them slightly more interesting.

Okay good. Don't get me wrong, I love doing high damage and out damaging/dpsing people with better gear than me. =x I'm not a flavor of the month switcher though.

As I said, no worries, Pigtail. I was just tauting you. Who am I to say something against someone that stop playing Moonkin because of what Blizzard did and is still doing to the class?
I just stick to moonkin because I am a stuborn old mumbler grumbler.

I used to love that song, but not so much anymore. Right now I'm just awake and listening to Metallica, from when they were still good.

Yeah it was a bit of a blast from the past for me. What Metallica didn't you like? I never followed them as closely.

Also.

We should get this thread to the next page soon. Scrolling past that Sarah Palin T-shirt is disturbing on so many levels.

I do, but I also scroll to the top to the page to go to a different forum, or to see who's on. That means going past that wonderfully distorted smile.

*shudder*

Look on the bright side.

Also, you do realize the forum index is at the bottom of each thread, too, right?
