Have you ever tried using one of those lightbox things or anything?

Nah, they're expensive. A cheap one is $50+ at Costco, and my doctor said that the cheap ones don't really work that well. If I wanted to get a good one, it'd be in the $150 range. I can't afford that unfortunately.

The flirting is fun but it would never work between us sweety. There's no better time of the year than winter.

As if it would have worked out besides that, when you live on the other side of the world. Smiley: tongue I did that once when I was 20, not doing it again. Having a bf that lives 1.5 away is bad enough lol.

Autumn is, without doubt, the best season.

I like not summer the best.

This.

Also, I just had one of those annoying déjà vu moments, except it was with an Urdu song. I figured out where I knew it from!

Summer has been my favorite season as long as I can remember. But when you live somewhere where it rains 8-9 months of the year, that'll happen.

Not to mention summer here is awesome. Clear with low humidity. Warm temperatures, but not like blistering hot. Perfect weather for doing stuff outside. Smiley: drool2

I actually <3 the rainy drizzle, fog and such; but this year is starting to get a little too long. What we had like 29 days of rain in March or something? Smiley: disappointed

Well, it does tend to get a bit humid, at least on the coast and here in the valley. But not as bad as other places from what I've heard. But yeah, it doesn't get too hot. Usually tops off in the mid 90's. 80-85 is just about perfect imo.

Those are just practical details, nowhere near as important as preference of season!

Keep forgetting you really are that much further south and such.

A lot of my family is in and around Puget Sound, so we tend to head north from Portland if anything. Lots of upper 70's/low 80's and such (like mid 20s C for all you other people out there).

Yeah that would be nice too. In the valley it tends to get a lot hotter though. =x I don't quite get why the coast gets so hot. It never failed, the first couple weeks of school while I was growing up (usually also the first couple weeks in September) it would be ridiculously hot, in the high 90's. Despite never being that hot during the summer. And there were days during the summer where it would still be foggy and a bit cold. The coast is weird like that. I much prefer Eugene summers.

I'm making a list of all the current projects people need to work on when I'm away. Smiley: grin It'll get forgotten or misplaced by people who don't want to do my work plus their own; and there will be a stack of work waiting for me when I get back, along with grumpy clients. At least that's what I'm planning on.

So ya, basicly spamming forums with weather-related nonsense is as productive as things get about now. Smiley: rolleyes

I like all seasons, but for different reasons.

Generally, though, I prefer cold over hot.

I wonder how bad the summers in Pakistan would/will be for me. They definitely sound hot (peak temperatures are 45-50°C/112-125F), and maintaining AC would cost me about $100 a month there. I could probably afford it, but I'd rather save that money.

Probably like living in a furnace. I don't think it's tropic enough to be like a sauna.

Pakistan isn't Mideast, it's Central Asia. Smiley: schooled

And the weather in the north (i.e. the uncool areas) is much less hot.

Similarly, the weather in Jordan is pretty awesome, or so I hear. I had some Palestinean try to convince me to move to Jordan a lot in game for a while. He got me to look at universities outside the places I'd normally look and that lead to the whole Pakistan idea.

I agree that the *** rights over there are... awful, but to be honest, therë́'s bigger issues (like castes, or similar systems) and I don't ever want to touch those, not even with a 10ft pole. Then again, I was thinking the same way when I came to the UK and here I am, prodding the culture left and right when there's injustice. I just think it's nowhere near as dangerous here than it would be there, and I do not crave danger.
To be fair, Pakistan is really progressive compared to most of the region about almost anything, especially in urban areas in the south/east. The main dangers for me if I went out in Western clothes (even the not so modest kind), for example, would be groping and pickpockets (because white people are rich, and I would be, too, relatively speaking), but I wouldn't get stoned or anything. But wtf, if I can run around in a shalwar kameez every day and that's socially accepted and doesn't make me stand out and is actually affordable, why the **** wouldn't I?
