Of gags, rubber duckies or both?

Both.

But specifically combining the two in this instance.

Rubber duck gag is win.

Also, on the beer front, my aunt and uncle came to visit and brought a load of various Belgian, French and German beers I've never heard of.

I shall enjoy sampling them while I play some video games this weekend.

Oh, and I am to give a speech at a birthday party tomorrow. Should be fun watching people tear up. In the good way, I mean.

Post names and reviews of beers here.
Bad typing because you're drunk isn't an issue.

+1 new avatar.

edit: Nothing can ever replace Guinness and Newcastle in my fridge. Although, on these hot summer Southern California days a Corona con Limon esta muy bueno para mi bocha =)

If you want a refreshing beer, drink Duvel or Hoegaarden Grand Cru, maybe a Weihenstephaner Hefeweiss.

I'm 20 min from the Mexican border. There are certain requirements for us who live here that the rest of the country doesn't need to worry about:

Moderate understanding of Spanglish

Having at least 2 recipes for carne asada (I'm on the heavy lime side of that divide)

And drinking Corona/Modelo/Dos Equis when appropriate

As an emigrant from the San Diego area, I can confirm this. My mom still speaks a fair amount of Spanish, and every year for Christmas Eve dinner we had Carne Asada burritos instead of a traditional one. When my dad was still alive, on special occasions he'd get Corona or Dos Equis instead of his usual Coors. =x

Cali people are special. Smiley: nod I don't envy your power outages though, as much as I miss the area in general.

Printing off some forms to take down to the financial aid office today. Going to see if I can get my financial aid reinstated for fall term, going to school part time. If I can, great! I don't have my hopes up though, considering my history the last year and a half. At this point, I really don't see me being able to get work outside of school, but I talked to my mom last night, and she said that if we lose the house, I can come home for a few months to get back on my feet. They'll pay for a couple classes at the local CC, so I can show that I can still make academic progress, and hope that that will get my financial aid up here reinstated.

That offer is not being extended to J, partly because my mom's still recovering from intestinal surgery due to diverticulitis flare ups (and she said she's been walking around the house half naked most of the time as a result), and probably partly because my mom doesn't think that he's been looking hard enough for work. It'll really suck being away from him, and E and all my friends up here, but it'd probably be good for me anyways. Plus I still have 2 or 3 friends who still live in the town I grew up in, so there's that.

My cheapo, basic carne asada marinade:

1 cup Light Mexican beer

1 Lime (heat for 20 sec in microwave and hand squeeze for juice)

1 Garlic Clove, crushed

Salt and Pepper to taste

Marinade 1 pound thinly sliced tri-tip in a zip-lock bag for at least 30 min but no more than 2 hours. Turn once.
Drain and pat dry.
Grill to medium.
Serve with salsa fresca, minced cilantro.
Optional: Fresh avocado, queso blanco, jullienne cabbage.

Cool, thanks.

Hey is anyone near Austin or Detroit? I'll be in those places in the near future.

Oh Maz, you shouldn't be playing Dead Island alone. Let's face it, the game's graphics/animations are kind of bad, add to that a dull story, and you get a boring single-player experience. But man, oh man, is the game fun when Falcy and I start talking smack and take turns kicking zombies in the crotch.
EDIT-Which brings me to my next point.
Falcy and I are up for another playthrough, with you this time! This is a limited offer, so let me know if you're down for it.
EDIT2 - Gee, the ending was such a cliffhanger, we can expect to see a Dead Island 2.

You should review the beers while you're intoxicated, it'll be hilarious.
Also record it and post it on youtube, that'll be even better.

So yesterday, the other dude that participated in my birthday celebrations, declared me as a "lover" on his Fetlife profile. This started a chain reaction of all my friends listing all the people they sleep with occasionally, and the overlap was pretty amusing. So I posted something about that, and one of my friends came up with the coinage, loverlap. Isn't that awesome? Smiley: grin

Hey, you're taking things out of context. I was asking Aeth if there's any way to contact you, aside from ZAM. He suggested I send you 24 PMs. IT WAS URGENT, OKAY?
Though, you didn't end up answering my question.
