My gawd open your eyes! There isn't a single point in Aspect of the Hawk!!!

edited: I mean, I guess it could be reworked for PVP considering where some of the points are, but it'd take more than just a tweak or three. Then again, I'm still learning the talent trees, but geesh man, Hawk is a baseline for any build.

And this from the guy asking where Scatter Shot is?

Look on the Survival Tree at Tier 3.

Scatter Shot is a talented ability rather than simply a trained one.

But it's listed as a lvl 15 spell on alla, hence, my confusion as none of the 1st tiers of talents are listed as lvl 10; however, point duly noted and taken.

You made a huge fool of yourself just FYI.

That spec isn't meant for PvP. Or anything. Ever. No matter WHAT. Aethien made the most terrible spec possible, not an actual suggestion.

I'm kind of wondering, if you looked at it, how did you NOT notice Scatter Shot on there?

I wasn't looking for scatter shot. And, i didn't say it WAS a pvp build, i said it could be overhauled as one; I'd suggest reading comprehension is our friend, but apparently we've both failed at it.

More, the point by Cobra was duly noted and well taken, as is your piling on after.

Don't worry about me, apparently I fail at everything, right? Let's dissect this to make it easier for you:

Really?

Ok, feeling like a total huntard, but, where can I find the lvl 15 spell Scatter Shot?

Well, doesn't that look familiar!

You sure about that?

Rework? Overhaul? I think the term you're looking for is "RESPEC".

Btw:

I wasn't talking about changing it or using it as a baseline, I meant the spec that he posted.

Now that you've had your little tantrum, feel better now? Get all your digs in? Last word (incoming I know)? Good, now maybe we can move on and let this thread be used what it's meant for?

Hey Aethien, would you mind posting a PvP spec for this guy? Maybe he'll understand what we're talking about.

Edit: Wtf, I'm asking a question, don't get all pissy.

I'm enjoying it Smiley: nod Tueval, just ignore Yuppley, he likes to fight.

Or of course you could have a massive meltdown, that would be amusing.

Would I have to speak that quasi-l337 shorthand during said meltdown like, "ur teh suck n00b!11!!" or some such? I really prefer not to, but if it'll keep the popcorn sales up, I'll take one for the team like that. ;-D

I walked away from this one learning a few things so it's all good. Namely, just because I'm a vet from EQ and LotRo doesn't mean I know jack with WoW--so, stfu and listen/RTFM before popping off mouth.

On a side note, I was perusing earlier in the thread and the pet feeding posts were darned enlightening. Also, I think I might have decided how I want to spec--Marksmanship. Means I'll have to repec--I was looking over the EJ list of baselines and stupidly/blindly missed "nice to have if your build can reach it" on a talent in Survival.

Anyway. Erm, thanks all for the lesson.

What are your feelings to adding Wyvern sting into the mix? I like to cast one on the bosses,as well they are mostly immune to the sleep effect, they aren't immune to the extra damage effect and every little bit helps, and this leads to less steady shots...

wyvern costs a lot of mana and overwrites serpent sting for very little extra damage, probably less damage than a steadyshot would do in the same place.

So no, using wyvern sting is not a good idea.
#93 May 23 2009 at 3:35 AM Rating: Default
With this in mind What do you think about re-speccing to leave wvyern sting out, given that you loose the noxious stings skill as well? This is my current spec

It's bad.

Go read the tooltips of imp. Humter's Mark, Careful Aim, Go for the Throat and try reading this thread, specifically the parts concerning Hunting Party and Expose Weakness.

I may just suck at managing my threat, but I've been having a lot of trouble lately pulling off of a particular tank--he's a friend, though, and he knows what he's doing, so if it's a problem with him it has to be a gear issue, and I don't *think* his gear is that bad. I don't have problems with any other tanks, though, so I'm really not sure. All I know is I managed to pull Heigan off of him, twice. /me fails

Here's his Armory, and here's mine.

I try to run without any addons if possible, up until now the in-game threat meter has been sufficient, but it seems like it jumps up to yellow and one autoshot later I've pulled. It takes me almost no time after FD to get back up to 70% or so of his threat, whereas with most tanks I am much, much lower on threat than they are. I'm going to be picking up Omen again so I can keep a closer eye on things--maybe I'm not the only one keeping relatively high on threat--but I don't know if that will solve my problems so much as hopefully explain what's going on.

Also since I fail at managing my threat relative to his and I expect to be running Naxx with him a fair bit in the future, I am considering going back to BM. I have heard that it isn't too bad now, and that I can get away with leaving my agi gems in for when I want to switch back to SV (or if I buy dual spec). Respeccing will hopefully split the threat a little more evenly between me and my pet at least. I'm not sure on which glyphs to make, though--Bestial Wrath is an obvious choice, but I'm not sure what would be best out of the other options for a BM spec. I think I can live without Serpent Sting so long as there are pallies around so I'm not running out of mana refreshing it, so would Steady Shot and Kill Shot be the best choices for my other two? Or is there some awesome new combination floating around that I've lost track of while I've been specced SV?

I'm pretty sure that that tank is just not very good at generating threat.

It happened again, with different tank--I pulled Stalagg off the tank before the first toss. In a pug, too, so extra embarrassing...

Keeping MD up on the tank is tricky since the other hunters seem to put theirs up at random times (wish it was possible to have two mds up on the same tank >.<) and all I can think of is turning my pet's cower on and feeding him my threat instead.

Oh well, maybe I'll find a Spirit Beast? Smiley: rolleyes

You just have terrible tanks, you really shouldn't be pulling threat like that. Oh, and DON'T start putting aggro onto your pet, waste of time/mana/focus.

Was doing 3-4k in Naxx 10 tonight as BM, and only dropped down from first on the meters when I helped kite the chow with my hydra. It hurts because I know as Survival (or with pallies who didn't refuse to buff my pets) I could be doing a fair bit more, but I had no threat issues whatsoever, and I've got dual spec now so when my hubby starts raiding again I can switch back to SV for stuff with him. Seriously he's the only tank on the server that I trust now. >.<

I need to stop doing this to myself, joining crappy 10-man guilds and then trying to stick with them. I don't really want to have to look for another one yet though, and they have a gbank and tabard... Smiley: lol

If you were pulling threat after MD'ing and Fd'ing, your tank was horrible. Really horrible.

Is there anyone that can help me put together some macro's that combines any shot I do with silence shot?
I've heard that since it's no longer on the GCD, it can be a dps booster to further improve your dps.

Do I have to make macro's for every special or can it be shot with ny shot with just one button?

Thanks in advance guys.
