picked up http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=50809, which means we cleared what's available of ICC... next time I'll have a frost spec ready for Saurfang (I'm on kite duty).

Eh, could you explain more about the Saurfang boss about that kiting? Maybe it could help my guild if I made a Frost-offspec as well. Is it the 4th boss?

Yeah Saurfang is the 4th boss in ICC. I don't know that I'd recommend what we did, I will explain:

Saurfang periodically spawns 2 bloodbeasts (5 in 25 man). They will increase his energy every time they hit someone, which is really, really bad. We did this 10 man. Our tactic was to kite them to prevent them from hitting anyone.

Most of the raid sat on top of Saurfang. I stood off to the left and a hunter stood off to his right. We each took one bloodbeast each time they spawned. I (as arcane) hit it with slow and then would hit and run until it died. A DK would come out (chains of ice) and help us if we were having trouble. There was usually only time for one or two shots at the boss in between spawns. We 2 healed it, so that really left 5 DPS (minus the DK occasionally) on Saurfang. It was a bit rough.

While this did work, it was not efficient.

Next time (probably tomorrow night), I'm going to try using a full permafrost (60%70% slow) Blizzard to grab both bloodbeasts myself. If I need help downing them, I hope to keep them near the boss so we can try to AoE them down without losing too much DPS on Saurfang. I think this strategy also scales better to 25 man, but we're not to Saurfang yet there. The ~1k DPS hit that I take should more than be made up for by allowing 1 additional DPS on the boss full time (or getting a third healer, or something).

This is really my first time on "progression" raiding, having come in when things were on farm before. I'm sure it's old news to the pros here, but I think having that fully specced Blizzard is helpful even on the harder trash pulls in ICC.

edit: 100 posts, yay!

If you use a frost spec you should either not spec into frostbite or wait until the mobs are away from the boss to hit them, as you dont want to lock them down next to melee. One way to handle them is if you have a Paladin healer, have them use righteous fury and stand at max casting range from boss so the adds always head toward them if a melee doesnt aoe them.
Then you can have a frost trap/dk chain/frost nova/entangling roots the non target mob once it is partway there depending on what classes you have in the group.

Yeh we did tried him last night again. I used Frostbolt 1 (1 sec cast, slow 40% for 8sec) on both the 2 adds, frosttrap was down by hunter on the stairs, I aggro that mob to me so I can kite, using frostnova and Cone of Frost (also slows target 50%))

Also I putted Amplify Magic on everyone.

If dmg is good on adds they are down in no time, but it's more important they dont hit anyone...

It is a dps-race, and we did not make it yet, we came till 4% grrrr. Max 3 bubble's on peeps is healable for our 3 healers. Maybe next time take another DPS-ser and try with 2 healers.

BTW, That Pirateship Fight (3th boss) is IMBA! Best fight ever if you ask me, that's loads of fun ^^

Oh yeah, that pirate ship fight is sweet. I think our RL wiped us on it once just so we could do it one more time.

Keep trying on Saurfang, it sounds like you're really close!

I went for blizzard instead of frostbolt because I haven't been having mana issues and wanted to get them slowed ASAP. Cone of cold is a great idea too.

I was on a cruise all week so I missed my guilds first 25man kill of saurfang. Remember, aoeing the adds does not work as they have 85% resistance to all aoe attacks. I'm going to stick with arcane + slow for kiting I think. Also a tip for the adds is to tank them against the door, they will all spawn ontop of each other making it easier to pick them up and slow them.

How is the airship fight "imba" which means it is imbalanced? It definitely is easy loot though...

Yeah, I found out the hard way AoE doesn't work, back to Arcane. If only Anobix had not gone on vacation... we still would have wiped, but it wouldn't have been my fault (that time... maybe).

lol my fault!

The only benefit to doing AoE would probably to spec for frostfire or something (so that you can still put out acceptable DPS compared to frost) but picking up permafrost (but not frostbite) so that you can slow all of them at once right at their spawn point then burn them down accordingly before they hit the various frost traps and so forth.

Haha, then may want to change your wording for it as imba tends to just mean that it is imbalanced/unbalanced (such as deathknights in pvp right at 80, or ret pallies in season 4 (I believe was the season) where they could 2-shot pretty much anything). May want to say 'it is a blast' or 'a fun fight'.

Darnit, rolled 84 and 93 yesterday on 2 real nice drops ICC-10 (neck) and ToC-10 HC (tricket), got beaten twice by 90 and 97 rolls grrrr...

At least we got that Saurfang-dude down :)

T-10 Chest in the pocket :) (so I keep my T-9 4-set-bonus)

Next target: The T-10 helm

Go for chest, helm and schoulders first, since the legs and hands can drop at the new VoA boss in a few weeks :)

On Tuesday I was granted the 25man Malygos mount by rolling a 97 on it. It is gorgeous, too bad it isn't 310, but that's okay.

I received the "wrecking ball" achievement this weekend. I was playing Alterac valley and we had a standoff in the middle of the road.
I ended up going 28 and 0 during the match and for those that have surely topped this feat, I am usually terrible at PVP.
It was some of the most fun I have had playing my mage.

Nice, the very first token to upgrade ur T-10 item wich dropped for our guild (killed Saurfang last night) was mine :)

So first T10.25 (?) in the pocket!

Hehe, funny thing was that when you trade ur T-10 item + token, you'll loose your T-10 item... So there I was fighting with no chest on for an hour ^^

I just hit 80 on my Mage about 20 minutes ago. It's my third 80. Now I get to send all his heirlooms to a budding Warlock about to step into the world.

Oo, that's next for me, too, a lock. But first, I've got a shaman and priest on the way up (60+). I've caught the alt fever! :) Love the heirlooms (and RAF too!).

Downed Saurfang today with me on my mage (10 man).
The staff dropped but I passed it on to our Druid healer who would make better use of it than I.
I was proud of my little Frostie. She pulled 4300 DPS on Saurfang / Blood beasts, while kiting.
On the standstill burn phase at the beginning, I was capping nearer to 8K.

Picked up Abracadaver (10 man) last night! My first staff in quite a while (somehow missed a staff in both Ulduar and ToC). The cadaver which spawns is disappointingly small.

Today we were doing a clear of ToC for the new recruits we've gotten, and my mage pulled 11K on Twins. I was EXTREMELY proud of frost at that point.

Yeh, me too last night! Cadaver is only 5500HP and small yeh and 15 min. cooldown is a bit dissapointing, although I love the looks of the staff itself and it's got sjitloads of Haste on it :)

After 2 months of blockcapped tank having to miss, npc that starts event bugging out, hotfixes on raid nights and leaving most of our attempts up each week finally got a couple of solid nights and downed Anub 25 heroic.

25 Rotface and Festergut down last night. Did one pull on professor just to see it, looks like it can be pretty fun.

Almost there for my first piece of T10 (I knew I should have started doing random5s and 10mans earlier...) but getting the chest (95 badges) then moving on from there (probably shoulders/head as gloves will drop from the new VoA boss when it is released, and legs will be offset).

Here's the parses of the kills:

http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/7w1rqqxzfcdd1j6m/sum/damageDone/?enc=kills

Pulled 8.2k on Festergut, pretty happy with that would have been a bit higher but got oozed (or whatever the disorient is) during bloodlust+timers [of course].
