Yeah, so my old server Zuluhed was awful. One night one of the "raid" guilds, Sol Invictus (a bunch of scrubs), decided they were going to try to do VR. A few of my guildies had joined the raid because Sol Invictus couldn't get all 25 people they needed. They invited me right as they finished clearing the last trash pack. I read up on the fight, looked pretty easy. Tank and spank, dodge some orbs, not much else. I figured we'd get it down in a few tries.

Boy was I wrong. Our best attempt was something like 68% health. Our healers kept dying to the orbs because they were too **** stupid to move, or would move right into another one. Over and over again people were told to step back, and not side to side if they saw another orb, but still, they kept dying.

On top of idiotic members, the group was just an awful composition. Something like 8 melees, most of which were scrub fury warriors. In any given attempt, I did about twice the damage of the best warrior. It's not surprising, seeing as I was probably the best geared melee DPS on the server (I'm not kidding, Zuluhed is that bad).

After five or six wipes, trash started respawning. The warlocks ran out of soulshards to summon people back in, and the group broke up.

I hate scrubs who think they can raid.

My guild is halfway through Kara after 3 weeks. Pretty mediocre to a lot of you, I'm sure, but considering we're not a raiding guild in the least, it makes me happy to know we downed Curator on the first try.

Hopefully this week will bring Edgewalker Longboots, Worgen Claw Necklace and/or Netherblade Gloves.

Sub rogues should not be in a raid ever. Unless its mag and everyone is geared enough that the sub rogue could not be there & it wouldnt matter. Post a link onto your guilds website to one of teh rogue math threads. I'm sur eyour guildies (if they dont already know that sub is complete **** would love to know why a terrible dps is getting in on raids when they bring no utility. =)

Attumen down (easiest boss fight evar). Moroes eluded us, but that's because we only had one priest for shackles, and the healadin that was with us apparently didn't think it was important to BoP the garrote off of me. Yeah, we still had 9 other guys, but without that DPS, the wipe was just slower.

I feel your pain. He was the major **** for my raid for 2 1/2 weeks. Our raid setup was 2 Rogues, 1 Warrior (MT), 1 Holy Priest, 1 Holy Pally, 1 Resto Shaman, 1 Feral Druid (OT), 1 Mage, 1 Warlock, 1 Hunter.

Ideal, right? Haha.

We managed to down him the day our Feral OT decided not to show up, so we PUG'd a Prot Pally for OT. Added an extra CC with Turn Undead, we downed 2 adds and got lucky with Moroes garroting the same person 3 times over the fight.

Also, as Rogues, we are almost last BoP priority. But it was nice having 2 Pally's to switch off BoPing our healers/tank. I got Garroted at Moroes' 20% mark, died right as he did. But damn, it felt good.

Also, if you can, 2 Shadow Priests makes that fight laughable at best.

For our last attempt, our DPS warrior was gracious enough to step out and allow us to grab another priest for that second shackle. Unfortunately, I was the only DPS that decided to follow the plan and take out the healer-type lady, so it took a little longer to down her, and those heals that she eked out while my kick was down made the difference in the fight.

We wiped at 4%. Smiley: mad

You and the priest deadzone the hunter, Priest needs to mana burn the pally.

Either MC the pally to get the kill on the hunter, or MC the hunter to prevent the Pally from healing him up if interupts are down.

A lot easier said than done -_-. Dead zoning the hunter is usually not a good idea because the pally will LOS my priest. If my priest wants to mana burn the pally, viper sting time D: I was just thinking that my priest should hide from the hunter and forget the mana burns. The pally's mana would eventually go down after healing over 5 WP stacks or cleansing. When the pally get's low enough on mana I'll tell my priest to come out and finish his mana while I bust all my cooldowns to pwn the hunt. How's this?

Hey, this might not mean much to you higher lvl guys, but last night I (finally) hit 44! Not a huge milestone, but now I can use my recently purchased (for a steal of 10g) Phantom Blade, now with Fiery on it!

It should be a huge increase to my DPS. Much better than my old Scorpion Sting was. I'm excited to toast some stuff! Woot!

I got my heroic key for the Mana tombs area today. Normally it wouldn't be any sort of achievement, but with a dying guild its the best I can do.

It's all because you didn't put mongoose on your fist weapon... I'm telling you... that's a whole 1%!!!!

On that note, 41/20 does exceptionally well on the alar fight because it's so dynamic. Things like imp KS are actually useful for the adds... and the rapid combo point generation is VERY useful. I don't know what exactly your arena mute spec looks like, but I would think that you would do similar if not better damage on that fight if you stayed mute. I know I personally wouldn't have respeced from mute had I been speced mute (as I am from time to time).

Yeah, I'm debating on whether I should go back to Mut. My guild doesn't require anything special for rogues when it comes to specs, and I really like Mut.

Well every few months I try to break out of my comfortable spec and go Combat, which would seem MUCH better than the Ass/Sub hodgepodge I usually do. I'm on 56k so don't use daggers (positioning lag sucks), so always MH a sword/mace/whatever. But once again I didn't like it, partly because some noob hunter who tried to gank me succeeded because some of my sh*t was on cooldown from testing it on ogres. So back to CB/prep non-dagger, now with riposte instead of premed, and a few other changes. Oh well, I have fun with it, though I wish the 41 point talents in Sub and **** weren't both dagger-only (not counting garrote). Hm, maybe I should try combat again though with a faster offhand...lol.

What else...well I got the um, Vengeance card from the Darkmoon faire. I never, ever instance so am a bit limited on potential trinkets. And I bought two cards at once and sold the other deck so didn't cost too much, except for economics majors and their @#%^ing opportunity cost. Also finally got the improved pvp trinket. Noticed a nice improvement in pvp survivability from both; I needed stamina badly so the 510hp from the card is nice. Plus it procced on a earthbind totem once in AV and killed it without me coming out of stealth. LOL! Then I read the 2.3 patch notes that said the proc wouldn't kill stuff like totems anymore :(

Only about 60 tickets til I get the ram mount from Brewfest.

Switched back to mut, and I feel comfortable with my spec again.

Moved two points from imp EA to Vile Poisons for raid damage and for **** off healers in the arena.

I still need to test whether Abolish Poison just checks once if it can dispel poisons or if it checks at every tick.

I doubt you would be, were you in my shoes. I was begging for agility pots by the end of the night, had spent 20g on 5 agility pots, 20g on repairs on just Al'ar tries alone (I can usually vanish on bosses in SSC because we either kill them easily or wipe horribly), and two 50g respecs.

My DPS wasn't even that great. (Granted the two other rogues pulling 1000+ DPS are sword spec with Talon/S2 OH, but still...)

I don't know Theo.

I'm pretty sure that personally I'd rather spend 50 gold wiping on Al'ar then trying to scrounge up 10 members of a dying guild to run freaking Karazhan. All I really have to say about endgame raiding is thank god I find decent pugs (with notable exceptions).

Once on the first tick, all ticks after that will abolish the poison.

my Kara pug, with 5 solid members has Kara on Farm. Did VR, and Mag last night. Guild on Hydros did lurker wendesday. Got cape from Mag, T4 From prince. Gloves from Attunemen. good week.

Eh? This is always what it does...attempts to remove one poison effect, and will continue to do so every tick for the remainder of the effect, up to 5 times.

@ theo, gratz on this thread idea and 1700.

I know I've been a **** on these forums b4, but this thread idea is a breath of fresh air of which I intend to partake.

So I finally managed to finish my Kara attunement and pickup my hourglass of the unraveller as well, which is actually a pretty difficult feat on Jaedenar (the 4th worst server in the WoW universe, I've heard). Hopefully within a week or so, my guild will get rolling on Kara.

Lotsa love to all the rogues out there, and GL to all.
