First post, and maybe not a great accomplishment but, I finally spec'd combat swords. 66 Levels deep into sub with some assassination thrown in, I had no idea how easy it was to level a combat rogue.

It's my first and only toon in WoW, coming from 18 yrs of pen and paper D&D it's a shock to see a rogue as DPS. In my old MMO (DDO) rogues were used for scouting and lockpicking/disarming traps.

I bought two crap 2.60 swords form the AH, and have a chance to get a 1.60 from a quest in Blade's Edge for my OH. Thanks to everyone on these boards, I no longer click on buttons, and my UI is nice and clean. (Thanks Theo!)

Oh and my guildmaster who has a rogue alt, (deep sub spec) chewed my hind end for going combat. Only thing I miss is that bonus % to attack power and agility from the sub tree. And not looking forward to re-spec to muti/combat at 70, seeing as raiding is totally out of the question for me. Durotan server, 6 lvl 70s in guild, none having ever done end game, I doubt I can find a pug.

More accomplishment for me after yesterday!

So my rogue is on a PVP server (Blackrock) and its my first PVP toon. So bear this in mind...

I dinged three levels yesterday putting him at 22 from 19. Got my poisons. Then me and a guildy went to a contested territory.

Ten kills! :D

This is my accomplishment, especially considering one of them was a 23 mage and I was a 21 rogue at the time.

Of course then four 70's showed up and pwn'd the hell out of us, but until then I had a blast.

I recieved both the Worgen Claw Necklace and Romulo's Poison Vial in one night (because our other Rogue couldn't attend.) So. So. Happy.

Hit Rating's finally almost at 200.

Well, my new guild is finally taking me seriously. Been in the raid for every fight in the last week or so (which is a big deal to me since we have like 7 70 Rogues, and they only take 2 to a raid normally, sometimes 3). Picked up Gloves of the Searing Grip off Al'ar to replace my T4 once 2.3 hits. Got the Vambraces of Ending off Solarian as well. Didn't get any loot out of SSC this week, but the Ring of Lethality dropped (went to a druid who got the ring off Lurker too, the *******), and champion gloves dropped as well (which went to a shammy).

All of that is nice, but this is the real accomplishment. 1082 DPS on Morogrim Tidewalker. The next highest melee DPS was 892, and the other Rogue only put out 871. The entire night, he never came within 100 DPS of me. I ended the night second in total damage done to a BM hunter, who was 82k damage ahead of me, who is wearing almost nothing but T5 or equivalent gear. That's including all trash, even AoE packs. Number 3 was a T5/epic crafted mage, 700,000 behind me, and then a similarly geared warlock in 4th, who was over 1,000,000 behind me. The other Rogue was over 2,000,000 damage behind me (though he did step out for Leo). As a DPS, you have to perform to get your raid spots, and people seem to be taking notice.

I would recommend waiting a couple more weeks and getting the s3 sword. Main hands don't seem to need any rating atm icon.

I will also try to get enough points for my s3 shanker (if I do indeed decide to stay mutilate). The damage difference is definitely worth waiting just a couple weeks imo.

As Theo said, it requires personal rating which I still can't get my arena team up to that level. :( Still scratching my head on how to improve where they are not hardcore pvp-er..

Seem so far from me the S3 sword, so I guess S2 will fulfill me for quite some time.

Get a better healer, imo. I'm hovering around 1800, but that's just b/c I can't put in the time on my 2's due to raiding.

Downed Prince for the first time ever, and got my T4 helm from him. It makes me look like a freaking berserker or something (and it gives me an extra set of tusks!).

Netherspite and Illhoof still evade our wrath, but that's mainly because some of the people in our group tonight weren't on the ball. One of our druids had to keep attending to her children, and one of our tanks kept getting punted out of Vent for some reason.

I'm sure we'll do a full clear of Kara next week.

Lowly accomplishment in the scheme of the rest of everyone - but I am finally confident in my PvP skills to take on higher levels (I'm only 65...for now) and took on and killed a 68 druid and a 69 mage last night. Next post will be when I ding 70!

Well, my guild has been downing Vashj steadily for about 2 months now. My performance finally earned me a spot on the fight (we didn't do it last week because of epic fail, long story). Took a few tries, but once people woke the @#%^ up, she went down with perfect execution. The two vortexes she dropped went to my brand spanking new Belt of Deep Shadow. I've now downed every boss in BC up to Kael'thas Sunstrider. Hoping to down him Sunday or Monday, since I have to take a leave of absence starting Wednesday for major eye surgery.

Nooble, which fight would you say is easier, alar or solarian?

Finally, no more blues in my PvE set! Edgewalkers dropped, only took roughly 14 moroes kills. As soon as they dropped I created a camp fire and burned my ugly Fel Leather Boots and wore the edgewalkers without gems or enchant for the rest of the run.

I'm not nooble, but I can say that Solarian is an absolute noob fest. If you're deadly boss mods are up to date (or big wigs preferably) its easier than Loot Reaver.

Soliarian is the ultimate ****** check.

Can you turn around and run if you start shooting out lightning bolts? Yes? Then you can down Soliaran.

Al'ar requires a very good offtank for the adds (preferably Pally), and two high DPS Rogues. If you don't have at least that, you're not going to down him. If the Pally can't keep aggro on the adds well enough for the Rogues to burn them down quickly, then adds are going to stack up and you're going to wipe. If your Rogues don't have the DPS to burn down the adds before another one spawns, you're going to wipe. The MTs have a fun job of playing hot potato with Al'ar in phase two as well. "Melt Armor! TAUNT IT OFF ME!"

Solarian is a pretty fun fight, really. Think Shade of Aran but harder.

I finally got into a few raids with my new guild.

I transfered servers to a new guild that was on Vashj/Kael. I was not needed in the progression group (guild leader and lt. general are rogues) so I spenta week anda half farming stuff for gear/money/my sanity. I made 3k and spent it on gem upgrades, Belt of Deep shadows, working on some enchants, and saved for epic flyer.

Friday night my guild does drunken Gruul, Mag, VR (or solarian this week). I got in on those. I had been reading up on this stuff and watching strat videos like crazy, so I did pretty well (4th on damage meter.)

Now people are actually talking to me and recognize who I am.

1 point for the rogue formerly known as Arundel.

Don't be so quick on that, its the third time i've got and lost in in less than a week. I appear to have picked up my first rate-down stalkers.

Ding 45 on my rogue >_>

I want my rogue to be my new main though. I'm going to focus hard on leveling him. I have a 70 mage on that server, I've been funding rogue with pretty good gear. I can't afford to go overboard and blow mongoose enchants on level 44 weapons but I have alot of pretty good ones (MH fiery, OH 15 agi, cloak 12 agi, AP on gloves/bracers, stats on chest, leg armor on pants).

Speeds up grinding by a ton. I decided to get back on the leveling guide that I knocked off for many levels. I have some catching up to do, so I've been grinding out 1.5 levels of rest XP. Hitting 56k/hour rested from straight grinding, so under 2 hours/level rested, if I were to straight grind a level on no rest XP it would be about 3.5 hours. Grindings not as bad as everyone thinks, but I'll go back to questing when I catch up to the guide and hopefully beat that pace. Its also a little less brain numbing.

After 6-7months of Gruul my Dragonspine Trophy dropped(actually dropped the week before too, but i rolled another rogue for it and lost) just in time for the haste rating nerf. Been a great week for the guild as well, 5/6 ssc this week and finally got to see vashj, although we're prolly a couple weeks away from mastering that fight.
