Possible Hunter SpecFollow

#1 Apr 27 2007 at 7:46 PM Rating: Decent
I just dinged to level 54 and am thinking of Respecing my toon. Here is the link...do you think this is an ok way to spend my talent points? I've already tamed other beasts and learned/trained my current cat pet, so he's pretty powerful, but I wanted to put more into BM for the Pet, but not take a huge loss in my MM tree either. Opinions/Advise?

Not to be mean, but did you put at least one talent in everything on purpose? Heres a link to the most useful talent guide for hunters

look at it yourself.
you have a huge problem with choosing things.

first of all, what do you want to do with your hunter.
so, what kind of things do you enjoy most?
do you want to group and be the best in instances, do you want to be great at soloing, or do you want to rock in PvP.

all are possible for a hunter, but at the moment you are going for none of it all and it looks like you just randomly threw points here and there.

we want to help you, but from what you posted here, that is rather hard.
also, there are loads of threads about talents here, read all (or most) of them. it will give you a good hint to what things really do.

I'm in agreement with Hellphantom and Aethien. There is a synergy earned from maximizing the Talents spent on a single ability. Spreading your points thin tends to make you weaker rather than stronger.

For a MM/bm build you'll probably want to focus on the Talents in BM that boost your personal stats, rather than the Pet. Endurance Training and Thick Hide do both, so they are good options. Here is a possible alternative build. It looks like you're rushing to Trueshot Aura, which is a decent goal, so the 4/5 RWS is justified as allowing you to spend that point in TSA. You can fill in the other point in RWS in the next level, followed perhaps by 2/2 Focused Fire. IAotH is optional, but it works for MM Hunters much better than for BM Hunters so I spent 5/5 in this sample build. If you do a lot of PvP I'd ditch that Talent since you won't see the same benefit as you will in PvE.

Hmm, you did toss a lot of talent points around a lot. I don't understand why you would put 1 point into Focused Fire and 2 Points into Improved Stings, instead of maxing them out. Having just 1 or 2 points here and there doesn't bring the talents to their full potential. Yes I understand that you might have to put a 1 or 2 points in something to be able to access other teirs, but not like how you did, hehe.

If you're going to go Marksman, I suggest you get Silencing Shot. It is an awesome ability to have for not only PvP, but also instances when you need to pull caster-type mobs. Max out Lethal and Mortal Shots, they are a staple for Marksman builds, along with Ranged Weapon Specialization.

You're not going to get the most out of a spec without sacrificing something; pet's damage for Marksman, Hunter's damage for Beast Mastery.

My opinion, and many others will agree; do not toss your talents around. You get 61 points, use them wisely.
