Well, I've played exclusively as a Rogue since I began playing WoW in 2004, so I think I can help you out.
When I used Cold Blood, it didn't turn out to be as useful as I originally thought. I say big crits are better for PVP or soloing, but DoTs and DPS are better for PVE. You agro much less if you have a steady flow of damage, instead of that massive, whopping Ambush or Eviscerate.
I suggest that, by level 16, you should have points into MoD + Imp. Sap. You will be a godsend in every party you join with those 2 talents maxed out.
Here is my build. My idea for this build is that it's all about simplicity and teamwork. With this build, I can start off with Premeditation (2CPs) and apply DoTs as necessary: Garrote (3-4 CPs, 1 DoT), Hemmorhage (4-5 CPs, 1 DoT + Debuff), and Rupture (maxed out, 2 DoTs + Debuff) or Slice and Dice (maxed out, 1 DoT, Debuff + DPS bonus).
Let me know what you think.
