How many arrows do quivers hold IRL?Follow

I was just kinda wondering how uber big our quivers are in-game. No way is a quiver going to hold 2000 arrows IRL, so I was just wondering how much they do hold.

Lowbie hunter I'm on right now has a 10-slot quiver. Even that number is extremely high for RL quivers.

To start, i am a Real life Archer(and i never claimed i was good, just that i regulary shoot arrows), not a bowhunter, so there may be some diffrences.
I have 3 diffrent quivers, and they hold about 9-18 arrows dependent on the Points they have(stuff like broadheads take up a lot more space than a Feild head). I do know that it is not likely to be able even carry arround 2000 arrows, they get heavy. But WoW is a game, and it would totaly Blow if you had to run back to town for every mob so you could replenish your stock.

As a side note though, I have a Bowhunting freind, and he is not level 60 but can down a elk with one arrow, so while the real life arrows are much less numrous, generaly it only takes one to kill a well... Elk(cant count how meny stags i have shot with my hunter and some of those puppies took more than 20 arrows to kill.)

yup like he said most quivers hold less than 20 arrows. I'm from Louisiana and they do a ton of bowhunting around here. If you miss with the first shot chances are you're not getting another off... no speed increase bows yet ;)
I have a couple compound bows and the quivers are built onto them and they only hold around 10 broadheads.

IRL I regularly lug around six enormous backpacks full of several sets of plate armor and weapons the size of telephone poles!

Oh wait, I mean in WoW I do that.

IRL is a boring mmo. I stopped paying for that one.

Some one didn't do their epic quiver quest ;) Or you don't have enough faction yet with the right group to buy the 18 slot one.

Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina (My current Quiver)

Clefthoof Hide Quiver - Requires Honored faction with Mag'har

Worg Hide Quiver - Requires Honored Faction with Kurenai

And for you Gun Lovers there finally is an 18 slot Ammo Bag

Smuggler's Ammo Pouch - Requires Honored Faction with The Consortium

Back on Topic, an actual "Quiver" IRL can hold anywhere between 3 and 50 arrows usually. This depends on the type of arrow, and the type of quiver, as there are many various types. Some people prefer the Cabela's Hip Quiver, which straps nicely to your side, but only holds 6 arrows for quick and easy access. The "Neet" quivers hold a lot more, such as the Neet NT2300 Quiver Black RH, but again this depends on what arrows you are using, or bolts if you're using a crossbow. For the most part the only real diference in arrows is what they're made of and the tips. The tips are the biggest part obviously, but the arrows are very thin and lightweight allowing you to hold even more in a quiver.

Depending on what you're hunting you may only take a few arrows with you, and keep the rest in a backpack. Most people tend not to like the open quivers as your arrows will fall out easily due to moving around, bending down, getting into position, etc. That's why the initial 3-6 quick access quivers are the better option. You can just unattach an arrow and re-equip yourself in about 5 seconds.

I ran down every Consortium quest I could find and didn't manage to get to Revered.

It unfortunately comes down to a rather dull grind for a RFQ. Kill Ogres in Nagrand for their necklaces and turn them in at Aeris Landing. You'll earn Mag'har faction while killing the Ogres and Consortium faction for the neclaces.

You can also turn the same necklaces in for Mag'har reputation in Nagrand, but the rep for Ogre kills makes that redundant unless you simply must have a Mag'har tabard.

you only have to get honored for the 18 slot pouch...
and i am 1k away from that, with a huge load of quests to go.

combat quivers were only up to 12 or so for mideval combat. Past that follow the actual hunters they know better for modern hunting quivers. western quivers held more than most others. mongolian held 3-6 though you could stuff more inside when you're just carrying extra arrows rather than for actual use. Siege warfare they didn't really worry as much about speed as carrying more. If you see a rush of calvary, you drop your bow, arrows and run into the infantry square. chances are you're not making it if the calvary are close enough to attempt a rush, however you might be lucky.

I have a friend in RL that uses a fantastic all-leather quiver that was handed down to him from his grandfather. It looks like something Legolas himself would be proud to wear, and it can hold at least 30-40 target arrows. As has been mentioned before however, the type of tip is the limiting factor (ie, bladed hunting arrows take up a lot more room than target arrows).

Having said that, a big quiver does not a good hunter make. You don't see Ted Nugent prowling around the forest with a quiver of 20 arrows. Ted needs ONE and only ONE arrow ;P He's the Chuck-Norris of the bow hunting world...

Thanks for the correction, it is indeed Honored for both the Mag'har quiver and the Consortium Ammo Pouch. I ground both up beyond Honored to access further rewards, and my faulty memory told me it was Revered for the 18 slot holders.
