heya all.

Do u ever have the feeling that all the others use us for water and portals?I mean..I DO sell portals for a fee and I DO make water and food for my friends that i grind with. But what about all the others out there who think that i will just stop whatever I am doing for their bidding?

Last week i was in ORG selling some enchants and I get a /w from a guy in UC telling me to go in UC and portal him to ORG!!!
Is this insane or is it just me??

The question here is:What do u say to these ppl?they pay u for water and food?Or u just ignore them?

I ignore them until they use manners.

then I say no

If they tell me to port them, I tell them to F off.

If they demand food and water. I make a stack of the lowest possible.

ppl sometimes get lazy and just become very very rude.
I had the hunter in a SV PuG last nite say this to me.
Hunter: Hey mage, can you give me some water???
Me to myself: Is it so hard to even say Clen? (my mage is called Clenise) mage and clen is the same amount letters!!111oneone.
*I made a stack of water and it to him. At least he thanked me after getting them.

then there those oddballs who like to pester me in very odd places.
me grinding on pirates at tanaris pirate cove....
random whisper: port me to IF please.
I do a shift-click on the name, sees that they are in Darkshore.
me replies: sure, come to me and i will port you. oh yeah, it will cost you a gold piece.
random whisper: #^%$@*^!*(^(*^#
me left clicks name and press ignore.

Best one yet should be the ones asking you to summon their friend in....

I did have times when I was in a good enough mood to make some water and throw it at random ppl I meet in town. I somehow think that I should be glad we do not get random tells asking us to heal in some god-forsaken corner of the world when you really do not want to... priest and the likes.

I love the tactic that I see often. I call it the "buff n' beg"
Me (mage) sitting down drinking after a fight.
Priest riding by on mount. Dismounts. Aplies stam buff to me. Then quickly before I can simply return the favor with an AI buff (to make it even you know) Priest asks for water. Well stam buff is good so....

In instances I expect the to be a vendoring machine at start. I dont mind as Im prepared with bags full before I get there, but while grinding it does get old. Esp. the old "can I please have some water"
reply "sure sec"

open trade place stack hit trade.

text bottom of the screen "can I plz have like 5 stacks" ARG!

hi

if people are polite/nice i never deny them food or water.

if i am not busy i will generally port people....but this one took the cake.

i logged on...i couldn't have been on more than 10 secs when i get a tell while i am in IF, "Come to Exodar and port me to SW". lol no please or if you have time, just a demand.

The "mage", "priest", and "lock" get old quick. I have a name, and even in combat, it is not too hard; and if it is, we should probably be on vent anyways.

I rarely get asked for food and water, but when I do I generally make it. I am down for being helpful, as long as you go about it in a nice way. I provide portals at the end of the instance, since that group has just help me complete a very difficult challenge.

In cities, if somebody wants a port, I give it to them--I charge them, however. If I don't have time, I tell them I can't, and ignore any other tells/replies.

Remember, people may not go about it in the right way, but if their on the same faction we may as well help them. Well, I guess if their rude, or anything like that, Right Click > Ignore > /r "Hey, ya, where should I meet you?".

I personally prefer to do a coupld of things when I'm asked for water/food/portals.

If they've asked nicely and I have time: "Sure, no prob."

If they aren't nice but not rude, I wait for them to offer to pay.

If I'm in a mood, "Nope :)"

If they're rude or demanding, "Hahahahaha I made you eat your parents!" /ignore.

Okay, so the line from the last one was just the one time...it's usually just a /ignore.

i don't know, from personal experience i've never been asked for water who was not grouped with or raided with me.

all the horror stories going around about ******* noobs just sounds like the extreme case of exception and therefore get all the attention.

nope.
happens all the time.

I actually had to have a talk with a guy once. It seemed like a kid or something, but he is standing there by the bank in Org and he whispers "give me water." and opens a trade window for me to put water in. I closed it and walked away over to AH. Again, my trade window pops up and behind me is this kid again. "water water water!" I stopped and said...

"You need to learn some freaking manners. You ask for water... you don't TELL me to give you water... and you CERTAINLY DON'T OPEN A TRADE WINDOW AT ME AND PUT NOTHING IN IT! TWICE!!! Go home."

Forktie this happens to me almost all the time.
That's why my ignore list is full xD

As for portals, if someone is rude (whether I'm in Stormwind or an instance) and demands a portal, I'll open one to DARNASSUS. I've done this five times now, and twice the people just go through (no tipping) and then get mad that I sent them so far away... the other three times they caught it and said "No, I wanted one to suchnsuch," so then I step through the portal.

It costs money to be a jerk, but it's money well spent in my book.

it might even be more fun to respond with "1 g first" then once they give it to you, say "oh crap, I am out of rune of portals. Sorry, my bad."

Isn't this out of the South Park where Cartman buys pubes off some kid so he looks like he's going through puberty?

if said persone asks nicely like may i please have some water i will come to you sure why not if persone wants a port and will come to me i will charge 1 g if they are in IF and i am in SW (i know i can port their) but for the inconveniance i charge 50s to 1g more depending on my mood if some level 70 asks for a port and hes in the same area i usually dont have to ask for money 1 time i didnt ask and they tipped me 10g when i was only expecting 20s because the person was nice.

I love that I have this opportunity to just vent about the rude people out there!

I'm usually really nice and I'll do water and food for free if I'm out of combat because it's just mana... But I got so mad at this one guy, who just came up and opened a trade window with me, but didn't even say anything... Then when I closed it and walked away, he whispers me and says "You were supposed to put water in there >_<" I mean wtf, did mages get a mind reading power that no one told me about?!?

And when I run instances with PUGs, there's always that one person who can't use your name, just like Cancerous mentioned, and just says "mage water" over and over again... until you're all out of mana.. of course that's usually when the tank pulls and you have to polymorph something with 50 mana left and everyone's yelling sheep at you as if you didn't know what your mark was... I love it when people pay attention to their group members... haha!
