Ret is generally considered a leveling build (solo). Protection is considered as a main tanks build. (Then Holy equals healing build)

Are you ret + holy? Would you like to keep it prot + holy? What is your current build right now? Before I suggest anything I'd like to see what you've had before and currently.

Speccing prot with Reckoning can be very usefull for grinding, but you have to completely change your way of grinding around.

/agree

If you grind Prot spec, do it AoE style taking on multiple mobs. Otherwise it's just boring as hell and a lot of your stuff won't even be used while soloing. But if you AoE grind, then you will make full use of the spec and make things a lot more fun and efficient.

Here is a nice prot/holy spec that Gaudian suggested for me "back when I was your age".

I had asked for a build that would maximize my utilization in groups - so I wanted to be able to heal or tank depending on what the group needed. It's a lvl 60 build but what he suggested (and worked well) was to make a beeline for Holy Shield as fast as I could and fill in the rest as I lvled.

I've recently switched to full prot (at 65/66) but with the build I posted I was able to easily main heal instances up through Crypts as well as serve as a passable MT if need be.
