spellsurge or soulfrostFollow

#1 Apr 26 2007 at 5:38 AM Rating: Decent
i was wondering what enchant to pick for my new Nathrezim Mindblade :D

either spellsurge or soulfrost, soulfrost would mean i get +1k shadow spell dmg at last, but spellsurge is extra mana for my group, but the RL told me my group never has mana troubles with me in it

what would you pick?

EDIT: Blarg, I keep messing up the math and I've got a huge paper due in an hour so I can't figure out what I did wrong.
Basically, Soulfrost returns as much as several times the mana as Spellsurge, and gives you damage.

soulfrost - your damage gives mana always with VT
spellsourge - give some mana sometimes

Just that this will only increase your shadow damage. Why don't you get +40 spell damage (will also give healing in next patch)? It's cheaper and only 12 (14?) damage less.

4 casts VT
2.5 casts SWP
16 casts Flay
on average every minute

23 casts/minute at 15% proc rate is one Spellsurge proc every 20 seconds or so (internal cooldown 30 seconds) gives 200 mana every minute

Major Spellpower adds 1022 damage and 51 mana every minute
Soulfrost adds 1380 damage and 69 mana every minute
(these assume SF, Darkness, Weaving, CoS, Misery)

Really don't know what I messed up the first time, but there ya go. That's assuming perfect proc rate on Spellsurge (no overlaps, etc). Any Mind Blasts or SWD will probably favor Soulfrost, since the internal cooldown limits Spellsurge.

I'd definitely go with Soulfrost if you've got the mats.

tnx getting my enchant tonight (guild sponsored :D )
now to replace all my gems with blue ones +36 spell dmg
and train enchanting +24 spell dmg

that wil bring me up to 1078 shadowspell dmg

after that hope i get the shadowdmg necky, and enough heroics for my trinket, offhand after that

Damnit, I was thoroughly confused there for a minute. I always get the color and rarity mixed up when someone says something >.<
