Before you abandon a pet, should you retrain to get back training points? Does that work, so you can use points on next pet?
The points a pet has when you abandon it don't carry over. They're individual to each pet, not to you. It's calculated based on the pet's level and loyalty level. I believe it's Pet Level * (Loyalty Level -1).
If you get a new pet, and level it, it'll get training points. Keep in mind though, that if the pet you train already has innate abilities, it'll show having negative training points for a bit.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I love this forum. Horde and Alliance being civil to one another just cause we're all hunters here. Sorry. Too much cheese?
