Biggest changes are no more mess in the middle of my screen (from ArcHUD), better appearance of my damage done, healing done, healing taken, etc (from SCT), moved my unit frame/target/tot/totot down right above my lower button bars. Opened up a lot of new room. Might get a new screen up this weekend if I have the time.

Awesome thanks alot. Theres some good stuff in there, as well as stuff i have no idea how to use lol. Gonna take some time to get used to it though. Trinity Bars seems good but i can't get used to the buttons being different.

Thank you both for taking the time to list those out. It is also nice to see others' screenshots :) I go back and forth on setting up my system like this where I download everything under the sun and configure them (on an off/boring gaming day) only to have a major patch come out and break my mods. Then I get tired of the errors/warnings and I remove almost all of them and get back to basics. For that reason, I got used to healing instances/raids without any mod to assist. It is better for the whole raid if you have some though, so I'm not trying to say "be a purist" ... it is just that one needs to be able to still heal, buff, debuff, cleanse, etc. effectively while you are waiting for patches to things like Decursive et al.

Anyway, I liked both of your posts because Chuucky's really helped with the "other" side of WoW gaming -- the AH and trades game. And lsfreak's presented a nice adventuring setup.

I'll try to configure mine a bit more and post a screenshot and list too. I do plan on installing a mod recommended by one of our raid leaders. Here is his reasoning for using it in Karazhan:

=========================
FocusFrame

This should help tremendously with dealing with the arcane bolts. By setting your /focus to Aran, you will have a separate portrait to be able to see what he is casting - and to whom (by having target of target on.) Thus, when we see an arcane bolt being cast, we can start spam healing that player.

=========================
More to come.

I'll have to try some of those addons also.

I second the vote for Grid. What you need to heal is information to make the right decision. The addon I have found best for this is Grid. Even for a raid of 25 people, you can easily configure a small square for each person with valuable information you want. The sqares are presented in a small, orderly grid.

With the settings I chose, for each party member's square I have indicators to show:
Bar graph on icon - health
Upper Right - Shielded
Lower Right - Renew
Upper Left - Agro
Lower Left - Low Mana and Incoming Heal
Border - Low Health
Center Icon - Magic or Desease

In one glance I can see 20 people's health and the items I like to watch. Check it out. http://www.wowace.com/wiki/Grid

I use Perl Classic in a manner similar to what FocusFrame appears to be. I've got my focus set in the middle of my screen, with a very small portrait but very large debuffs (so I can't miss the fact that my Shackle broke too early) and a cast bar to watch what they're casting if my focus is there for that purpose. Except I don't need to know who Curator is casting Arcane Bolt at, as it should be the same person every time, and I'm usually DPS'ing and not healing ;P

I never liked mods to help heal - I don't want to get used to them. When they break (and they will get broken), it basically leaves you helpless until they're fixed. All my DPS mods I can function without, but healing... :/ My other problem is I never really got into using key bindings for healing (or really anything) until I started up my alts in the last two months, so I'm very, very used to click-healing - hence why my healing buttons are right next to the party frames.
I might need to look into used Grid as a raid unit frame mod instead of solely for Decursing as I do now. Though all the little dots might get me confused :P

EDIT: Never used Blizz's casting bar. For one thing my target frame isn't in the same place as Blizzard's, nor do I have room where Blizz's automatically is, so I moved them around, nor does Blizz have one for your Focus (afaik). Also, from what I've heard, it isn't that great. The one I'm using shows the icon of the spell, the spell name, casting time left (in tenths of a second), and shows cast time increases due to taking damage (for me, my target, and my focus).

Other ones I have found useful (not mentioned above):

DotTimer and
Vampwatch

DotTimer (which I think includes Cooldowns) gives a casting bar as to when buff/tick will finish

Vampwatch lets you know some stats regarding mana and health returned through fight/raid.

While I haven't actually seen it, but Blizz has a timer built into the DoT debuff on your target. Not sure how good it is though, probably want an addon anywho (same with SCT and casting bar :P ).

I haven't been able to get VampWatch to work for some reason :/

Thanks for the screenies. Looks interesting for soloing, but I'll definitely be sticking with natur enemy cast bar for tracking DoT's in raids, debuffs jump around so much in raids or even 5-mans it's crazy to try and watch them >.<

Natur Bars
PoW Tracker

That's it. For Shade of Aran I just use target of target with mouseover macros to heal someone getting bolted, and I've used Blizzards frames from 0-70.

Not saying that addons are evil or unhelpful, but you should never feel gimped as a healer if you don't use healbot or grid or some other addon.

that just means 10+ replies ... it is a "hot topic" ... not a flaming thread.
