well this is my first post, I am at the time of this posting a 45 shaman Dranei with all points in the elemental area. Question is am I stupid and don't understand that my points should be spread out or am I a elemental point *****?

please give me wise advice and set me straight.

your fine the only problem is elemental really comes into its own 60 and beyond, but if you want to stick it out as an elemental their is nothing wrong with that, but after your 40 or 41 points deep into elemental you may want to start going into resto tree, not just for Nature's swiftness, but also for another 5% crit for your lightning bolts. Up to you tho bro, odds are you may want to make some specifications at lvl 60 anyways, so I am sure you will be fine for now if you just stay in elemental tree.

Wow, you just earned your name. Enhancement is for melee dps not tanking (though we can tank some lower end instances with the right group we are NOT a tank class) at lvl 45 the OP is already past that point really anyway.

To the OP, Elemental is better than fine, it's great though you may find itemisation difficult until you reach outland, in the lower levels enhancement is the common spec choice as it is less mana dependent and therefore faster/more efficient for levelling. Elemental though gives you a more constant, reliable dps and as a result you are actually less likely to pull aggro (a big windfury double/triple crit from an enhance sham will pull nearly every time).

I do endorse jmfmb's suggestion to put some points in resto as well, a lot of sham's forgo the 41 point talent in elemental (ToW) in order to take Natures Swiftness (21 point resto talent) I advise you consider doing the same as NS is truly one of the shaman's most powerful talents and IMO far more useful and usable than ToW.

Go to the WoW website and check the talent tree section, you can map out talent builds there and see what you like.
