I like Native American names, mine is taken from the movie "Dances With Wolves". I also have a lower level Tauren druid named Koshka-the Russian word for cat. Come up with something original like that, try to avoid the silly "cow"-related names. Just my opinion. =)

I agree - I'm not a big fan of silly cow names for Tauren, unless they're really clever, funny or or original. I also went with a Native American name for my Tauren - she's called Atira. I found the name in a book of mythology, I think she's some kind of Native American deity or something. The internet is also surprisingly handy for looking up these sorts of things :)

Another alternative is to just pick a word which relates to Druids and maybe translate it into another language. A friend of mine has a Tauren Druid called Canvia (I think) which is Catalan for "he changes". I thought that was pretty cool. If you don't know any other languages it might take a bit of experimenting before you hit on something that sounds right though.

I am personally a big fan of historical names:

-Keltoi (greek name for shaman´s)
-Galatai (greek name for shaman´s)
-Celtae (roman name for druids)
-Galli (roman name for druids)

-Vidô (to see, to know)
-Vates (soothsayer)
-Irminsul (An other name for the world tree, Yggdrasil)
-Samhuinn (A celtic name for a month)

Bu really, I prefer chosing random names for my character when it comes to RPing. Children are not given a name because later they will become a paladin. I guess taurens are given new names after they are born...

I like to mash my keyboard until I find a combination of letters that I can use, stick a few vowels and delete a few letters, and BAM! instant name, such as Snao. That or I find really common names amusing, such as Phil or Dave.

when i cant think of a name i ussualy just crack open The Silmarillion (prequil to the hobbit and lotr) and look in the index. its ussualy easy to find something to do with your chracter some nice names ive gotten from it are

Draugluin (the great werewolf) for my feral druid

Valarukar (another name for balrog) for shadow priest

Carcharoth (the red maw) seems to fit a taruen druid pretty well since their animal forms are redish

My druid is named Kanat, after the primary wolf in Cherokee myth (I thought druids could turn into wolves, stupid shamans ><). I have a RP druid named Paix, the French word for Peace. Anything that suits you is fine, just be sure you're happy w/ it! ^_^

I used the random name generator, for lack of something more interesting (It didn't jive to use the same name for my midget Tarutaru in FFXI *and* my lumbering Tauren Druid). Most of them sucked, but then Ranawaran turned up; I kinda liked the ring to it.

Taking names from The Silmarillion is a really good idea though. Doesn't work as well from Hobbit/LOTR, though, because you know all the characters (and you might get in trouble with blizzard, since their TOS states you can't use copyrighted names and whatnot).

I know a guy who lived in Africa for a while, and he has a black cat called, I think, 'Tomba'. He said that's the word for 'black female' in Africa.

Suitable for a female elf druid

I usually go with names based on their meanings (and don't forget to have something that can be shortened without sounding too goofy. lol)
www.behindthename.com is a good site. It lets you search specific meanings, world cultures, etc.

I went with Quanah (means "fragrant" in Comanche XD)
