So much for stealth rogues...Follow

Well, with all the talk about nerfing pallies and shammies, they nerfed us... now all special moves (goast strike/hemorage) give one combo point. There goes the one and only cobat advantage for stealth rogues, guess we'll all be combat/assassintate now...

They've given 1 combo point for as long as I can remember and neither ghostly strike nor Hemmorage are helpful to Combat rogues because they are unlikely to see them having spent half their points in Combat.

Rogues come in two flavours really. Ignoring stunlock and dot builds and backstab/ambush they all boil down to Combat and Stealth.

Combat rogues lose out on massive opening damage but have consistent DPS over the fight. Stealth rogues get massive opening damage but then the DPS drops once they go into the fight itself.

Ghostly Strike is a skill used by both types of rogue to minimize damage once it just becomes a slugfest.

A combat rogue will not even get Hemmorage.

I don't really see your problem.

I don't know what my build is classed as.. I always open with CS and follow with SS. My Talents were something like 29/2/18 I think.

I prefer PvE but I am on PvP server to be with friends. Until there is something useful to be gained form killing horde I will stick to the stuff I find fun...

Now what is fun - with my talents... is CS giving 2 points followed by SS which 33% of the time gives me an additional 3 points. For a quick kill I use cold blood then evis and any caster around my level is all but dead.

My talents are around combo point generation. I figure the faster I get them, the quicker they go down - or get to the point where they run...

I currently use Gut Ripper and Lifeforce Dagger so when I get a crit SS on the ripper, it often does the bonus damage as well - some massive hits with that lvl 40 dagger - I think I will use it always despite having several other faster higher dps weapons..

My friend told me I was an assasinate rogue yet I never use BS except to try pull a mob off someone... I'll probably die fast in PvP duels at stuff so when that happens I will re-learn what I need to and change my style.

I use ghostly strike regularly in solo when fighting elites close to my level or normal mobs a couple levels higher. It sometimes crits giving me 2 points but usually doesn't. It definitely helps but I would not swear by it...

Cheers

the stealth atack skills comein handy after you gain the vanish skill because it counts as stealth and can be evective killer whil ranking up the points for a finishing move

During open beta and for at least the first month of retail ghostly strike gave 5 combo points and hemmorage gave 4. This made either of these moves, followed by eviserate an excellent combo for a massive burst of damage. Following either with a 5 second kidney shot was also very effective.

Those were bugs. Obvious bugs. Now they're fixed.

I'm a pure combat rogue. I get more damage using a gun or bow to pull and then spend my energy in actual combat than to have it all go into my first move leaving my dps rather weak following. I've tried doing both, but its so much easier to just shoot and slash than it is to sneak up and stab. Sure I take more damage, but I'm a combat rogue... I lay down heavy damage.

How exactly do you make a "stealth" rogue? I want to do that! Do you just load up the talent tree in Subetly?
