How useful is Faerie fire?Follow

#1 Jan 06 2005 at 8:39 AM Rating: Decent
I play on a Normal server. Originally I was thinking that faerie fire would be really great, but then the more I thought about how little I was going to be involved in PvP, I thought that maybe it really isn't that important for me. I mean, yes it decreases armour on the person that I hit it with, but I see it's main greatness being the inability to stealth. Do you fight enough rogue class NPCs to make this worthwhile?

I ask this because I'm really very torn about where to take my talents. Getting faerie fire requices dedicating all those points to the feral tree. (I think it was 17 if you want to be able to use it in both forms. ><)

So what do you all think?

So you're not gona get involved in PvP... So what? If you act as a support healer in a party, it will be REALLY appreciated by all of your melee damage dealers. On top of that, you do need those against hardcore elites: it DOES make a difference.

At least thats how I see it...

Well that's what I was asking. I have no idea what the higher levels look like or play like. I have no idea how much you are going to fight the types of enemies where it will be useful. That is why I ask.

You're telling me to use those 17 points and then dedicate the rest to one of the other 2 trees. Thank you. Are there any other opinions? I would appreciate as many as possible.

No you don't have to put into feral tree. Those faerie fires are for your animal forms, you can actually buy Faerie Fire at 18 or 20 (somewhere around there) for your caster form. Check the druid trainer and see for yourself.

I can? Cool. I don't remember seeing that on the list. I'm definitely going to have to check that out next time I log on. Thanks very much for that tip. ^^

Faerie Fire is useful because of the armor debuffing .. it really increases everyone's damage to the mob in question and makes it die faster. The anti-stealth feature also comes in handy once you are fighting stealth mobs at higher levels as well. Generally I cast FF close to the beginning of nearly every fight because of the impact it has on armor.

Yes, well I already knew it was useful. It was just that I somehow missed the ability to cast it without shifting, so I wanted to know if it was really worth spending the talent points on. My innate blindness strikes again, I suppose. I will obviously be buying every spell I have normal access to and using them to my best advantage. ^^

Thanks for all the info everyone.
