Isn't the pall just a Alliance shammy(in a fair sense
Or a shammy just a Horde pally(in the same sense

Not really. A paladin is a hybrid leaning more towards melee and tanking power while a shaman is a hybrid leaning more casting and healing.

The Shaman and the Paladin are alike in being strong and having some of the same sort of spells to cast, but the Paladin tends to have Auras and more Buffs than the Shaman, but the Shaman has all of his/her totems to use.

EDIT: Also they are boths the PVP Kings of the game.

The Paladin and Shaman are very similar in my opinion. They are both Hybrids of very similar nature it's just that Paladin went more the route of a Warrior and Shaman went more the route of a Priest/Mage (however you want to put it).

Or better put the Paladin is the Shaman that went more for physical combat, and the Shaman is the Paladin that went more for Magic.

Paladins are defensive in nature, shamans are more offensive in nature. Does not mean they have none of the opposit capaibilites.

But it is the usual light vs dark.
Best to think shamans like dark knights, shadow knights, stuff like that but instead of dark abilites, elemental abilities.

But shamans CANNOT TANK worth anything late game. They are at best decent healers when they get chain healing. But their DPS is very nice, up there with rogues and mages.

Paladins can tank, can be a good healer. But then their dps is kinda weak.

While yes they are each sides respective hybrids and have to say their opposites.

When you look at a paladin and the skills avaiable to them, the easiest thing to see is "holy crap these guys are gonna be hard to kill". They have incredible survivability and focus heavily on their own defenses, however they sacrifices DPS for it and they are the worst class for DPS. Not only do they not have very good DPS but it's 99% melee damage and they have no way to slow someone down or speed themselves up creating often troublesome situations.

Shamans on the other hand don't have the plate armor or invulns or big AC buffs. Shamans trade off their survivability for more offensive skills like damage spells. The shaman forms a very offensive force that can often overwhelm people which leads to an easy victory. Unlike paladins, shamans can deal a fair amount of damage from range as well as snare other people and if need be have ghost wolf to chase(or run).
