To all you combat rogues out there what weapons do you use. I hear alot use swords and maces but do you still keep a dagger for backstab? or jus stun and SS all the way. Do finishing moves like eviscerate req. a dagger? and at what level did you get the last lvl 40 ability on the tree your specializing in

I started out using 2 daggers.. couldn't find any decent ones started using swords/maces. It was funny really how much fast I killed stuff. I'm using a dagger now and I hate it but I'm broke so I have to deal with it. But as for skills using daggers only ones I know of are BS and Ambush every other skill I have acces to at level 31 will work with whatever weapons.
Eviscerate is probably my main source of damage though with all 5 combo points in it on a good crit at 31 I'll do about 430 damage in one hit.

I had used daggers solely for a short time, until I realized the SS potential with swords. After being trained in them, I use them to great effect. I still want to use a dagger main hand, but currently my sword is main hand only. Take it from me, use what you come across until higher level, when an entire rogue build is based around using a dagger, sword, mace, etc. Why sell that great mace when you can use it, even if you lose BS? I find that a mix of SnD and a 3 point garrate(sp?) is a wonderful combo.

Garrote is an Opening Move. Do you mean Rupture? That's a DoT Finishing Move.

I use two swords with biggest damage in main hand (ignore dps).

You should grind humanoids for serveral reasons:

1) pickpocket
2) disarm
3) cloth drops

humanoids come in 2 basic types, and the fight varies accordingly:

Melee; 2 handers and dual wielders: open with cs, ss till 5 cp's, evis, repeat. throw in a KS if they are mobs that run (also allways use crippling poison on mobs that run in fear)

Casters; open with cs, first spell interrupt is a kick, second is a ks, third (if needed) is kick again. if either kick or ks misses, gouge. It's important to keep some spare energy so you can quickly interrupt their casting.

Being a lvl 60 combat rogue (and have trying the other talent trees,) dual wield mace combat rogue is the most effective for PvE. Losing backstab and ambush are no big deal for PvE. This is mainly because those 2 abilities will get u instant aggro from mobs that will maul us leather wearing ninjas. Now for PvP, dual dagger or dagger/sword is the best using mostly subtlety. This is not just my opinion but has been well documented in many forums by lvl 60 rogues.
