Training that second pet ?Follow

#1 Dec 23 2004 at 3:24 PM Rating: Decent
I've had exactly one pet (once past the training quests). If I dismiss him and try to train another, game says "You already have a pet." I haven't tried putting him in the kennel, yet, maybe that's the answer.

But even with the kennel, seems like the maximum number of pets anyone can have is three -- two in the kennel and one at work with you. Is that right?

Or, if I want to get rid of him forever, I suppose I could ust let him get killed or starve him till he leaves me? Will I lose the pet abilities he knows in those cases.

Pretty much, I'm willing to stick with the known, but it seems worthwhile to get a few more pets to get Claw and Bite and so on. I'd just like to avoid doing something really stupid and losing my 'best friend' forever :)

That is true, the stable can only have a maximum number of two idle pets. If you wish to dismiss your original pet permanently all you need to do is right-click on their picture and select abandon. This will permanently dismiss the pet and you can tame another pet. As for the skills, you are the one who learns the skills from the pet so they are always with you regardless of the pet you have. I hope this helps :)

Would like to add that in order to train the new pet they must have "training points" so when you first get them you can not train until you have built up experience with them and gained training points.

Thanks for the information. Really comes in handy. What are the benefits from having more than one pet? Skills? Not real fond with Beastmastery. Please explain.

Thank you,

none realy...
you can have a tanking pet (bear deff< turtle deff) and a dps pet(cat(more speed),raptor(more dps))...but...

since your pet gets exp when it's 1 level below you... I am to lazy to level 2 pets... sure ppl say that it doesn't take to long but...

personly :D i get new pet time to time... just to get new skill and teach it to the raptor that i had since level 20.

I like raptor since the dps... sure it would be nice to have a tanking pet for pt and stuff but over all it makes no diffrence.

after all... at level 50 no pet mob can stan up to an instance elit. even if it is a turtle with a protact scroll 3 on it...

-_-;;

Beastmastery: I hate to use this talents too... but it makes solo leveling, so much easyer! and it's way to go.

level this till 60, and when I get there i will change my talents... for more pvp.

Thank you. I was really working myself over how I should spend my talent points and well, now I don't have to worry about not having placed any in Beastmastery.

Thank you,
