My PvE build, need adviceFollow

#1 Dec 22 2004 at 4:53 AM Rating: Decent
As of right now I have a level 15 hunter, and I haven't used a single talent point yet. I was going to post asking for a PvE talent build, but I decided to try building my own. This character is going to be for pure PvE (Player vs. Enviornment.)

Beast Mastery Talents (16 points)

Improved Aspect of the Hawk - 5/5 points
Increases the Ranged Attack Power bonus of your Aspect of the Hawk by 20%.

Endurance Training - 5/5 points
Increases the Health of your pets by 10%.

Unleashed Fury - 5/5 points
Increases the damage done by your pets by 10%.

Bestial Swiftness - 1/1 point
Increases the outdoor movement speed of your pets by 30%. (Had one point left over, threw it here...any use in PvE?)

Marksmanship Talents (35 points)

Improved Concussive Shot - 5/5 points
Gives your Concussive Shot a 20% chance to stun the target for 3 seconds.

Lethal Shots - 5/5 points
Increases your critical strike chance with ranged weapons by 5%.

Improved Hunter's Mark - 5/5 points
Increases the Ranged Attack Power bonus of your Hunter's Mark spell by 15%.

Aimed Shot - 1/1 point
An aimed shot that increases ranged damage by 70.

Improved Arcane Shot - 5/5 points
Reduces the cooldown of your Arcane Shot by 1 second.

Mortal Shots - 5/5 points
Increases your ranged weapon critical strike damage bonus by 50%.

Hawk Eye - 3/3 points
Increases the range of your ranged weapons by 6 yards.

Ranged Weapon Specialization - 5/5 points
Increases the damage you deal with ranged weapons by 5%.

Trueshot Aura - 1/1 point
Increases the Ranged and Melee Attack Power of party members within 30 yards by 30.

Survival Talents (0 points)

None

Keep in mind this isn't going to be used for PvP at all. Feel free to pick this apart, I could really use some advice on where to go from here. Did I leave out any talents that are really good for PvE? Did I add a talent that is worthless for PvE? Also I don't know if I should go with Improved Serpent Sting or Improved Arcane Shot for PvE?

I'm going for a PVE build as well and I'm doing a similar build but here are my differences and reasons:
1. I'm not going to put any points into Aspect of the Hawk. Reason: At lvl 60 Aspect of the Hawk has a 110 modifier and with a 20% bonus would go to 132. While this is nice you can only have 1 Aura on at a time and while I'm soloing I'll use Aspect of the Hawk, when I'm grouped or in a dungeon I'll us the Trueshot Aura. Hence, 5 pts seems to be alot for a bonus on an Aura that I'll use half the time.
2. I'll end up putting those 5 pts into Bestial Discipline to increase my pet's Focus. It seems my bear is always running low on Focus at the most inopportune times.
3. I'll do 4 points into Unleashed Fury and 1 into Bestial Switness.
4. I'll also put 5 points into Thick Hide as my bear is always my tank and sometimes a group MT or off-tank.
5. My Marksmanship build will look almost the same but I won't put any points into Improved Arcane shot as it uses the same timer as my Aimed shot, and I tend to use one or the other or a combo depending on the target.

Those are my thoughts and I'm very happy currently with my massive ranged damage at lvl 31 by going straight Marksmanship so far. I'd like to hear what you think.

Hmmm, you bring up a point that I'm not sure about.

Trueshot Aura. Nowhere does it say that this is an aspect, and since I don't have it yet I can't say for certain.

Can anyone comment on this that has it? Can you have aspect of the Hawk and Trueshot Aura on at the same time?

If not, I may need to rethink my build.

I use these two builds, myself speaking. These are more along the lines of PvP, but work well in both PvP & PvE as well.
