hi all

My pet is now 31 and I am almost finished using the bear meat I got from killing bears in Ashenvale. The problem is now it only regains 17 happiness. I am 32 and going to desolace to level but I can't seem to find another beast that drops meat for my bear.

Is there another place that I can kill a mob of my level (32+) for meat? or do you guys just start buying meat from vendors?

I found a similar sitution with my pet at around 34. Instead of worrying about collecting meat i have just used meat sold from the butcher or general food vendor. Originally i was feeding the pet Mutton Chop but recently i have had to upgrade to Wild Hog Shank. I find it alot more convienent to simply buy 2 stacks of meat and replace a stack when it has been depleted. The cost is nominal as well i think i am paying about 36s a stack and it lasts me a substantial period of time. I am getting 35 happiness at the moment.

Menu (my pet wolf) has become an increasingly finicky eater. One thing I can suggest is hunt beasts in the area where you are, many of them will drop meat. Around that level Raptor meat and Tiger meat will work well. Crocolisk meat, and Wolf meat won't restore as much, but will restore a lot. Just poke around a little bit and I'm sure you'll find some new sources. Admittedly there are some dead spots, where the mobs are either too low or too high to give decent yields, and that's when you should start going back to the meat vendors.

Two things here. I am not near the level you guys are, being only lvl 20. I have a bear as well.

1. You can suppliment his diet with fishing. Bears love fish.

2. Also, do some cooking if you are not doing it already. Cooking actually increases the stat value of food. The higher stat value the more happy the pet and longer it lasts.

My understanding is that the pet needs to be getting food appropriate to his level in order to maintain the same gains. This being the case doing either of the above or even a combo should help out. My cooking is at 147 now and i make stuff that gives 550 plus hp and stat increases of 6 for 15 min i think. The 223 hp stuff and 4 to stats satisfies him well for the time being.

also try even the unusual to feed the pet. I found that my bear will eat almost anything. Spider legs etc. many that i wouldn't have thought of. The bear is the billy goat of WoW.
