Sword and Wand for Warlock Questions?Follow

#1 Nov 27 2004 at 2:21 PM Rating: Decent
Hi All.
I have a lvl 8 Warlock. I can't find any swords or wands I can use. Do I have to get to a higher level and then train or something before I can use these?
Thanks in advance!

You have to train in swords and / or wands. The cost is 10 silver each

Wand skill is free for Warlocks. You just have to find one in order to use it. There are a couple of quest wands but I think you need to be higher level to get the quests.

Sword skill and stave skill have to be trained. As Smalfri pointed out, it's 10 silver each to train.

Go to a guard and ask them to show you to the weapons master or something like that. He/she ( i dunno how it works in other places, in Stormwind its a man ) will ask what you want to be trained in, staves or swords. Pick one ( or both ) pay the silver, which is 10s a piece, and enjoy! Also warlocks come equiped with the wand skill, like someone said. The first one I got questing in Westfall was when i was 16ish, might be able to buy one or find one sooner

On alliance side staves are learned in the NE home city.

Ive actually stated that im undead and checked UC and ogrimmar i believe and weapons master only tuaght sword, but if you say he may teach stave as well then ill have to check the other main cities too. Dont really feel like taking a stroll through stormwind anytime soon..

The sword trainer for the horde is in Thunder Bluff. Cost is 10 silver.

Actually if you are an undead warlock here is where you learn the skills.

Undercity - Swords
Thunder Bluff - Staves

and also for wands, if you find someone with about a lvl 15 enchanting, they can make you a lesser wand u can use at lv8.

i happened to get lucky as i picked enchanting as one of my crafts so i started using a wand pretty early on.

the lesser wand from enchanting gets resisted nearly every attack for me, if you follow the undead quests, eventually i got a fire wand as reward and that worked alot better until i was able to afford buying a better one, i wish i could remember which quest it was that gave me the first wand though

Resists on wands seem to have a correlation to your wand skill. I get much less resists now that my wand skill is over 100. It doesn't seem to matter what type of wand I am using.

I assume that once I start finding "fire resistant" creatures that I'll need to not use a fire wand, same for cold and shadow and arcane.

I only carry one wand around with me now but if resists start becoming a problem, i'll probably have to carry arounda selection of them :-)

You can also learn staves and sword from Woo Ping in SW, for the Alliance

You can train Staves in Orgrimmar as well. A guard will lead you to the Weapons Master (I had to speak with 2 NPC's before I found the Staff trainer).

When you right click on the weapons master it will give you an option saying "What can other weapons trainers teach me" (or something like that) and it will tell you which weapons trainer to see for what skill. It does this for Stormwind and Ironforge, I don't know about the other cities.
