Open beta priest seeking veteran advice.Follow

I played my priest to level 22 in the open beta with a warrior and a shaman, cleared rage and wc. I enjoyed the power of being the primary healer, and was very impressed with how my intervention influenced the battle. That being said, I needed a little more versatility than simply the heal bot.

I got to pvp a bit as a priest, and I thought it was insanely fun. I was hoping to add that extra dimension to my priest by shadow speccing and increasing my effectiveness as a DPS caster in PvP environments. Additionally, I thought taking focused casting and the improved power words would best compliment this direction.

Has anyone played a priest this way? What were your thoughts on how a shadow specialized priest fared in both the primary healer role, and the offensively minded PvP priest?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can pretty much stay on top of your healing duties with only 20 points in holy, thus my choice of going 20 Holy, 20 Discipline, 11 Shadow.

For full shadow spec though, I have to say I dislike them. They are not threat management efficient, and will solo mostly. For pvp wise I prefer mainly holy because I have very good staying power and can still perform quite a good amount of dps.
