Hunter was one of the later classes I tried in OB, so I only got to level 9 or 10. Ammo is dirt cheap at the lower levels at least. After killing a few creatures and selling the loot, I was able to fill up my ammo bag with no trouble. Ammo is sold in stacks of 200, and you can fit 6 stacks (I think) in the ammo bag you start with. You can put more ammo in regular bags, but the ammo bag gives an increase to shooting speed. I'm going to train in mining and engineering so I can make my own ammo among other things.

Comming from FF the ammo was always a huge problem for the rangers or now the hunters. I would strongly reccomend making your own ammo with the tradeskills avaible in WoW. In the end with "range-dominant" classes the only person you can really rely on is yourself. In FF taking the time to fill yourself up with ammo that you made is cheaper than buying it and I can see that happening in this game as well. The craftskill mostly likely going to be used for Hunters is probally Enginering. Before I hear everyone tell how much im wrong because they are going to use bows instead of guns please hear me out. With enginering you can make your own bullets for your rifles. In FF I leveled in both Bows and Guns I found guns a little more to my liking. Anyway with guns you cant get the distance that you can with some of the bows (true), but you will get more dmg. The reason I widely reccomend enginering is that you can also make land mines and explosives. While pulling the monster you can lay traps for the mob to run into to inflict even more damage. I dont know how this will effect the monster hate but its great for hunters i think. Well thats my 2....copper?

I played a hunter up to level 30 and ammo was never a problem unless I forgot to restock. ANytime you have to go into town just stock up on arrows. Also upgrade your quiver to medium or better as soon as possible. Arrows come in 200 bundles and a medium quiver is 10 slot so you can hold 2000 arrows..that lasts a LONG TIME! I never ran out, even in long dungeon sieges but I'm sure on the higher level dungeons you might want to bring an extra sack full of arrows too..also recommend you carry several stacks of food, something to replinish mana like milk or melon juice and an extra bow incase yours breaks. Fun class though.

You will use tons of ammo, but the good news is its easy to come by.

i have an 8 slot bag for ammo and once i got down to 3 bullets hehe. But i was out for a long time on that run. If you take engineering you can make your own bullets and they do more damage than store bought bullets. Each combine makes a stack of 200 bullets. Most of the time when i come back to town i still have about half my bag full.

Store bought light shot does 1dps i think. crafted light does 1.5dps. Store bought heavy does 3.5dps. Crafted heavy does 5 dps. Thats the lower end bullets. If i remember correctly the upper end crafted bullets do like 19dps. Not positive though its been a bit since i looked.

The problem I have with Ammo is that us Bow users can't make it.

There needs to be crafted arrows with more dps.

Plain and simple.
