Where to find pet type XFollow

#1 Nov 22 2004 at 10:49 AM Rating: Decent
I played a hunter in the original stress test and enjoyed it immensly. My pet scooter was an alpha wolf who I had tamed in mulgore. I plan on playing a hunter tomorrow but would like to tame a cat, particularally a tiget or panther.

During the OB I tried to explore different zones with my warrior to find where i could to tame a tiger but did not find one around level 10.

I was also thinking we could help each other out on where to tame different pets.

For example mulgore has- wolves, swoops, cougars
barrens has- lions, raptors, etc

thanks

The Isles east of Sen'Jin Village in Durotar has tigers round 8-9 if i remember right. they teach you cower, great for parties with a tank.

West of Ogrimmar, snagged myself a level 10 raptor as my first pet. Took a few tries to pull it off, but I've got a cool looking pet for my efforts ^_^

Two ways to get a raptor for Alliance.

1. Wetlands near Menethil at level 21-22.

2. Sneak into a lower level Horde zone, snag one, and use your stone to get away.

Good luck.

I got an alliance raptor on day 2, but it was quite painful. I started in Stormwind and from their ran south on a booty bay run. This is fairly easy till you hit the jungle. At this point you're probably gonna die, a lot, and you're gonna have a hella repair bill once you get to booty bay. I actually did this in order to obtain the fishing book. Once I was there I decided to explore some and took the ferry to Ratchet (a horde outpost). I was in luck and not many horde members had made it to ratchet on day 2, so I snuck into the barrens. This is where I first discovered raptors and I promptly abandoned my nightsaber to tame one. From here you can use your stone to get back, or hop back on the boat to booty bay and catch a griffin back to StormWind.

I'm now told that there is an easier way to get to the Barrens. This seems to envolved running through ashenvale to where it meets the northern barrens and then sneaking in and through to the lower barrens to catch a raptor.

Option 3 is to level to 25 or so and catch a raptor in the wetlands.

If you are on a PvP server I would highly recommend option 3 over the other 2, its less painful in the long run. :)

the barrens/ahsenvale is the avtually the best place i think ashenvale is for much higher lvs and the only way u could die through there if ur smart and avoid mobs is a horde raiding party. simply take the left entrance through the gate to the barrens (hole in th ewall) and certainly dont kill any orcs despite the lv or all orcs in the zone will be alerted to your presence, (had a raid myself and some dumb&*% killed a lv 8 orc ncp standing around next thing ya know had like 20 orcs or more on our hinnies) take a left into the barrens, swim across the water/river dont take the bridge the guards horde alliance can and will see and smack u up. there should be lv 8-9 raptors there which can be dealt with be wary you are near ogrimmar and soem wandering people might see and report you to others.
