Paladin/Rogue duo worth a shot?Follow

#1 Nov 20 2004 at 7:50 PM Rating: Decent
I noticed the paladin has this ability called "Seal of Reckoning" that gives a constant health boost every time the target strikes an enemy. It lasts for 30 seconds. The ally that would benefit most from such a seal would clearly be a rogue that is using "Slice and Dice," quick weapons (ie: fist weapons or daggers) and dual weild. The rogue would dish out more than 2 attacks per second, and be nearly invinsible for the 30 seconds that the "Seal of Reckoning" is active. The question is, "Will this combo be worth trying out?"

Opinions?

There is one problem though. Seals are all Self-casts, at least all the ones I've seen. So you can't cast it on a Rogue. The alternative would be to use that seal on yourself and use the "Blessing of Sacrifice" on the other to share the damage. While you're hitting and taking health back, you're sharing in their pain.

Not all seals are selfcasts. Most of them CAN NOT be casted on your self. Im not sure if the seal you want to use is a kind that you can use on others. try out thottbot.com

36 paladin here. The seal of light is a heal on attack that only affects the paladin unless you use judgement in which case ANY player that attacks regains health but in the lesser judged amount and at a lower rate. You do not get the health back on every hit, but at a fairly high rate (somethin over 50%) which for a weapon effect is very high in WoW. I am not sure if there is a limit to the times this goes off a minute or just a chance on strike however. If its based on procs per minute than a fast attacking class like rogue doesn't get a huge advantage, however if its just percentage than a duo w/ it would be extremely good. However, without ever including this its still a great combo as the rogues ability to use throwing weapons to pull mobs and its huge damage output make up for the paladins ability to do alot of damage later in the game, and the healing/tanking of the paladin cover rogues inability to take hits as well when it doesn't dodge them. And Xiphere... all seals are self cast, but the effects don't necessarily effect you. A seal cast will effect any enemy you fight for 30 secs not one specific target. The judgement however is only against your selected target and never affects the caster or his partymembers directly

sorry but not all seal are self cast, you get one at +- lvl 48 (forgot the name) that you can, for example, cast on your mage and take some of the dmg he get, its the only one i know that can be cast on another one tho.

Err, no. That's Blessing of Sacrifice (http://www.thottbot.com/?k=941). Blessings can be cast on almost anyone -- seals are different. Seals can only be cast on yourself, or be Judged onto an enemy, and last 30 seconds as opposed to the 5 mins of most Blessings (not including Blessing of Protection or Sacrifice.)

EDIT - Typo

Level 32 pladin saying yes it is a good combo. You cast seal of light on your self, then cast judgment on the ememy. the rouge will then heal a lot of damage. Seal of light is great ability in my opion, espally when u use it as a judgment.
