Ill answer ur question from my experience. Im a human warrior (+5 sword skill) and i was using 2 swords. Now IF you could hit most of the time like u do with 2h weapons, it would be better. But for some reason i was missing... a lot. So in my experience it wasnt too good. Dunno if that answered ur question, but thats what happen when i used it. I might try it again if i get better weapons, but in the mean time, ill just use a 2h weapon.

From my stand point, dual weapons are particularly useful for a warrior. Rage is built by hitting monsters and being hit. Two fast weapons are going to hit much more often, and thereforee build much more rage, than a slow two-handed weapon. Rage abilities are really where warriors earn their keep.

Two-handed weapons are much more useful for Paladins, as they don't have to worry about building rage during combat.

But that's my opinion. I could be wrong.

correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't agility affect your hit rate? and if so, seeing as how gnomes have the second highest agility for warriors, wouldn't that make dual wield a very viable option for us gnome warriors? I can see the rage build-up being very good. I just got dual wield this morning, and then I had to go to work so I haven't gotten the chance to try it out yet. I'll post back after I've used it some.

yes but a heavy hit from a two handed weapon will generate alot of hate quick, and by dual wielding your damage is less per hit then it would be with a shield so I think as far as DD goes dual wield is good but for tanking 1h and shield or 2h would probably be better

I am almost a lvl 30 warrior and have had dual-wield since the moment I turned lvl 20. I personally thought that it would be better than a 2H weapon. Boy, was I wrong. I generate much more hate with a 2H weapon and deal much more damage due to the fact that I miss quite a bit dual-wielding. I personally wish I would have saved the silver it cost me to learn dual-wield.

If you miss, you don't generate rage. Without rage unfortunately warriors can't kill quick. For me, being a Night Elf Warrior, killing the mob fast is very important as I can't take much of a beating. I went a more offensive route in my talent points also, so that makes some difference but not much.

Your base miss chance when Dual-Wielding is about 24%. With one weapon it's about 5%. Dual-Wielding has more damage potential, but you have a miss chance 5x higher than single weapons, so it's not worth it when you crunch numbers. But I think it looks cool, so I stick with it.

i am currently a 25 night elf warrior on proudmore and i dual weild.

i find that i can generate rage alot faster over my 2handed weapons, as for hate? i cant really say as i rarely group unless i have to but i rarely get potential KSers running off with my mob (but it has been known to happen).

having high agility from being a night elf i find that im either constantly hitting or having the odd streak of misses.

all in all IMO dual weild is awesome, but with all things you may as well test it yourself. get some quested 1 handers, fork out your silver for the skill and go play whack-a-troll

have fun all :)

Actually its been tested many times (check the wow forums); Duel wield is round 20-24% miss rate and normal miss rate is 8-16% so there is a major difference, however, at the same time, you will be missing more but you will be swinging much more. Ultimately damage really depends on equipment, if you got 2 amazing 1h weapons you will tear stuff up just as well as if you had an amazing 2h weapon. Once again go to worldofwarcraft.com forums, lots of parsing data there to mow through.

To keep going, if you want to duel wield you basically HAVE to go fury, which include an extra rage per hit talent so rage actually generates MUCH faster with duel wield, and that translates into damage, so in the end it bout equals out with 1h+shield and 2h. However, the key to being a good warrior is to know how and when to switch your config multiple times in order to make best use of your talents (all the flat +dmg talents are best with 2hs) pick up your shield when you are getting the **** beat outta him, and than take out the duel wield when you want to go pure offense and tear into things in turn.

Ya I was using 2 handers for awhile and now that I found a good match on two one handers I am a DPS machine. I have DoT's that stack with my own and it gets crazy on the damage being dealt. It all depends on your gear really.
