You can train up fist weapons as a warrior. Not sure why you would, though.

I don't see why not; maybe he wants to be a hand-to-hand Warrior.

It's more a matter of the limited number of fist weapons in-game. The last patch added a bunch, but they are still quite rare indeed.

why you wouldnt???????

Fistweapons are very cool, only a few classes can train them, like shaman, rouge, warrior, maybe paladin and hunter. There are some cool fistweapons, well ill hope you all know the shaman in Warcraft 3, they have fistweapos witch look very cool, with 3 knifes on each hand, like woverine by the X-man, WOW, has them too, just look at the item libary.

if youré going to fight with two weapons fist-wep are cool

I first started building up my unarmed skill when fighting enemies that liked to disarm all the time (*cough*Defias*cough*).
Fist weapons tend to be fast and low on the damage side, much like a dagger. In fact, they make an excellent choice when you want more chances to hit at the expense of actual damage per hit (this is important when your miss chance goes through the roof against higher level enemies). Unfortunately, the only fist weapons I have come across so far are the ones sold by the vendor downstairs in the Timberline Arms in the Ironforge Military Ward (upstairs in that same building is the Dwarven weaponmaster that teaches you to use fist weapons). Sadly, the selection is fine as far as vendor-sold weapons are concerned, but a bit pricey compared to auction-house fare. I bought an off-hand claw for appearances' sake, though. 8P

Any time you do not have a weapon equipped, you will fight unarmed. Once you gain the ability to dual wield (level 10 for rogues, level 20 for warriors), any time you leave either hand unarmed, you will fight unarmed with that hand. The same goes for fist weapons. So you can have no weapon or a fist waepon in the main hand, and a big ol' sword in your off hand, if you like. Or the other way around (I hate it when games do not allow you to do this. WoW does. ^_^).
You need to pay a trainer to learn how to use fist weapons, but there is no "Fist Weapon" skill. Training in fist weapons simply allows you to equip the weapon. Fist weapons draw from and build up your unarmed skill.

By the way, single-handed weapons come in one of three types: Main Hand, Off Hand, and One Hand.
Main Hand: can only be equiped in the main hand.
Off Hand: surprise surprise, can only be equipped in the off hand.
One Hand: while usually not sporting as much damage as the other two, can be equipped in either hand.
I value one hand weapons for practice, since I can pair them with anything. But main or off hand weapons usually have higher damage per second (DPS) and neater stats/abilities. ^_^

I just started using fist weapons with dual weapon combat and a warrior is all about RAGE, how do you get RAGE?. By hitting something or being hit.
With that said if you use Dual Weapons along with Unarmed Combat you hit twice as fast gaining RAGE on every hit.
I charge in and unless I miss more than 3 times in a row I ALWAYS have RAGE, so Charge, cleve, hamstring repeat, Im only a 22lvl Dwarf Warrior at the moment but as that goes up maybe I will change my mind.
