ok this post is to ask a simple question. and i only want known facts what is playing the hunter like i.e. do you have to travel the world looking for pets to summon that are X levels from you. --or-- do you have to find a pet then basicaly "charm" it to work for you until it dies. let me know about this and what teh talent tree is like

as for the talent tree, im not sure, but for the pet i think you find one your level or less, use some training spell on it for 20 seconds, and its yours. You must keep the pet happy by feeding him though, or he will run away or attack you. When your pet dies, you can resurrect it.

Also your pet levels with you, growing in power and hitpoints as you level (though it takes MUCH less for it to level than you).

Say you get a 20th lvl pet at 20th lvl. Now though it only takes 6800 xp for pet to level, it takes you like 30,000 (just for arguments sake, not sure on the number). Your pet will NEVER out lvl you, if you are both 20th lvl, you pet will get no more xp till you lvl to 21st, then it will start to accure xp and usually by the time you are 1/4 the way into 21st the pet will ding 21st.

This is so that if you are 20th lvl and tame a 15th lvl pet, it will catch up to you in levels before you ding 21.

You can have multiple pets, but be in command of only one at a time.

I have a bear pet and a raptor pet. I keep the raptor at the stables unless I want a damage dealing pet, the bear is better in terms of HP and AC, but does less damage. So if I want the raptor, I go to a stable master, swap pets and off I go.

Here's the scoop on pets:

You can only have one pet at a time. YOu cannot tame and have 3 or 4 pets running around with you. You CAN stable a pet and tame another one. This is useful for learning new abilities to teach your pet.

If you pet dies you can revive it. It's an ability that takes mana and casts in about 8 seocnds or so (don't quote that time, I never TIMED it). You also get a "mend pet" ability that you can use ot heal your pet IN or OUT of combat. Very handy.

Pets level with you. They can NEVER get higher level then you though my pet was usually about a 1/2 level behind me.

Pets have loyalty levels. I never got above level 6 which is BEST FRIEND.

You gain loyalty by your pet being happy or content. You loose loyalty by pet being mad or unhappy.

You can increase your pets mood by feeding it a type of food it likes. Look at it's profile to see what it likes. Higher level food will work faster (won't have to feed it as much) and keeps it happy longer.

My pet had over 1000 HP's at level 30 while I was pushing 800. My armor was about 700 my pet's was aboug 1200. I had a Dire Boar from outside RazorHill. ALso had talent points in the Pet Mastery to imp. pet's HP by 15%. (3 ranks)

If your pet dies, you are probably dead unless the mob is REALLY low life or you can run. KEEP YOUR PET ALIVE!!! Your mend ability is great for healing as I was usually able to heal my pet faster then the mob could damage it and start shooting my bow again after a few heals. This is why you keep mana potions on you :)

You can set your pet to be AGGRO - attacks anything that is aggro to you. Defensive, only attakcs things that attack/dmg you. Or passive..does nothing unless you tell it to.

You get a little "pet" bar above your own action bar with things like Attack, Follow, Wait, and other abilites includign the Mood (aggro, def, passive).

Dismissing, not feeding, and your pet dying all put your pet in a worse mood (not necessarily mad or unhappy).

You can "Whistle" to get your pet back if it disappears ither by getting to far from it..taking a bat/wyvern ride or any reason that would caue your pet to vanish (but not die). If it dies you have to revie it. Whistle instantly summons your pet with hte same health/status as before it disappeared. Costs no mana.

As for taming pets, I was able to tame pets my level and lower. Some beasts I was not able to train such as Kodo's and Elite Mobs like the Druids when in bear form in the Den :P ehhe. Training takes abuot 15 seconds or so (again, didn't time it) and while you are doing it it aggro's the mob and you loose defense (not sure how much) so you will get hit harder and can do nothing else while Taming it - otherwise you loose concentratoin and have to restart it. Once Tamed it will become your pet or if ou fail..it keeps trying to eat you.

Hope that helps!
