Please Help Me With Conjurer SoloFollow

hello i recently have been playing this game on and off and I can't seem to connect when my friends are all playing during the day as i have horrible work shift which involves me having free time during early mornings.

Anyways I am level 22 conjurer/20 thm/10 for every regular craft and 24 physical.
I have about default str/dex
about 42 vit/58 int/52 pie/46 mnd and elements i am spreading evenly until i get them to level 50 at the very least due to a lot of spells being all elements.

my questions are:
how does soloing work for conjurer? I am used to ff11 gameplay where you avoid enemy hitting you at all cost and a lot of kiting with bind/sleep/gravity/etc, or hitting so hard enemy fall fast before they get chance to hit you.

I am using 1 handed wep and shield in order to level shield at same time and get extra defense. but for some reason i am having a hard time soloing past 20 because it usually involves me using protect/shell/stoneskin/shock spikes, and then nuking with 2 elements of whatever my weapon has % bonus to. Even weakness for enemy is weird because you fight such a variety of enemy its hard to keep up with weakness, unlike ff11 you usually fight elementals or certain monster types.

do conjurers use gravity/bind and kite or just nuke away and cure spam the damage away?

any information is appreciated.

This question was asked so long ago that KingAlkaiser undoubtedly solved it by now. Still, someone with the same problem will find this...
I agree with killing thngs 1-3 levels above your current level. Different monsters hit harder so find a respawning group of something you can kill easily and quickly. Try to get 100-300 experience per kill. Then just grind unttil your experience per kill drops below 100 per kill.
I can usually complete a level in about two hours. At 300 experience per kill, it only takes 100 kills to gather 30,000 experience which is enough to raise your level very quickly. This works for all classes CNJ, THM, GLD, PLD etc... The hardest part is selecting what monster is your next kill. Do guild quests to find out what monsters are easiest to kill at your level. Trying to sort it out in FFXIV databases is a waste of time because the game is constantly changing. I used Camp Tranquil for leveling from 26-32, Camp Horizon for 32-35, MuyTuy Caverns and Camp Dragonhead for 36-40, and Nophica, and Camp Broken Water for 40-50.
You gain new abilities as you level up, be sure you use them and get familiar with what they do.
