Hi all,

I wanted to get feedback from other THM on Initiation. Most times I find myself having to equip Shell/Protect/Shock spikes/stoneskin. However, recently I had the chance to go after NM's and didn't have to equip them. So instead I equipped Absorb ATK/DEF/EVA/ACC along with Initiation. I was able to Successfully land the absorb spells and then transfer all of the stats to the tank. It also stacks with other ability buffs like defender. Has anyone else been using this combo and if so what do you think?

I really wanted to transfer "Emulation" to our tank during Dodore NM ... shows up as a buff, but since its "up to 4" I'm wondering if Shell/Prot/Spikes/S.Skin transferred and not the 60s Emulation buff.

Need to test a little further.

Certainly you have a little more freedom (with spell selection) with multiple casters in the party.

Plus as a caster you will more than likely be out of range of buffs, leaving you with four open slots to fill and transfer.

As a Thm, if AoE is on, you will always benefit from your own buffs, no matter how far the person you're targeting is.

The point is that I will not need to be the DoM casting buffs, and will be far out of range from the tank/melee that are receiving the buffs. This leaves me with open slots to fill up with Absorb spells and then transfer with Initiation.

It is a moot point though, after testing protect/shell/shock spikes/stoneskin don't transfer using Initiation anyways. It will just transfer the next 4 after them.

Gotcha.

And good to know that Initiation doesn't transfer those basic buffs that everyone already has.

Question: When I have played about with this in the past I have only used one spell with Initiation and that is Abs Def. It works well and if successful the tank will get a good minute of my buff. Is the amount of time the tank gets the buff set or does it depend on when I cast Initiation and how long I have left of the buff. For example I cast Abs Def and get the buff starting at 1.30 left on my top timer bar (top of the screen icons for most people), If I cast Initiation at 1.25 and it successfully hits my target does that target get their buff starting at 1.25 as well so we are in sync? Or does their timer start at 1 minute period everytime?

On a slight tangent...

/action "Absorb Defence" <t>
/wait 1
/p Targeting <p3> - get ready for {Initiation}
/action "Initiation" <p3>

I think this would be a good macro for this, anyone agree/disagree/have a better suggestion? I was thinking of setting this up for my tank when I fight NM's.

I'll have to test the time given to the target member of Initiation, as compared to how much time is left on me before the transfer. Thats a great point.

As far as the macro's the set up I have is the following;

/ac "Absorb ATK" <st> (st so that I can cycle through in case of multiple targets, then the rest of the macro's just use t so that it works in one smooth motion).
/wait 5
/ac "Absorb DEF" <t>
/wait 5
/ac "Absorb EVA" <t>
/wait 5
/ac "Absorb ACC" <t>

Then I use Initiation on its own, so I can use the party name list to pick my target and hit enter. Its pretty funny to see someone tanking and receive the buffs for the first time :)

I just finished testing the timers on transferring the Absorb spell buffs with Initiation to another player. They get the buffs for the remainder of what was left.
