This is a newbie question but how do you use the thamaturge ability blood rite or exaltation. They are assigned to the numbers (4 and 5) but it won't cast them. They are not highlighted for use. Is there some special condition for them to be used? Thanks for any help anyone decides to give.

I better add to that. The stamina bar is full, there are enough action points, and I'm pretty sure it is equipped to the main hand.
