There's rumor that Sacrifice is actually superior to Cure for SP, even as a Conjurer, because you essentially get two chances for SP instead of one because the heal and the heal-over-time spell grant SP separately.
from what i see, this is correct, but the amount given by the regen effect is not that big a deal, i just use cure when situation calls for it and sacrifice well, when the situation dosnt call for cure :O, how do i choose betweent the 2? just keep in mind sacrifice takes HP to cast and sometimes you just need a cure.
It's situational. If you are partied with other healers and nobody is ever in threat of dying (See, eft grinding), use Sacrifice. It heals for 2/3 of Cure's heal, and you will get the same Healing SP + buff SP
If you yourself need HP, use Cure. Sacrifice heals you for even less since you have to factor out 53 HP from it. Unless you're in absolutely no danger of dying, where you should let another healer heal you to full.
and if sh*t is hitting the fan, @#%^ it and use Cure 2. SP gains comes second to letting your team survive.
Very well explained personal in action, battle example, this is exactly what i meant.
Now about the regen effect SP, you only receive this once when you first inflict the regen effect, casting over players alrdy with the effect will not yield any SP at all. the most SP i have gained from that effect is 20-30 about 4 times which makes 80 give or take afew, decent SP, but also the player must need the sacrifice heals, cant just regen a full HP player, it will not give any SP and you lose the chance of regen effect SP for that fight.
I still encourage mages to use Tier 2 heals, when your party members are able to receive that much HP from your spell, personally i havnt had the bad experience, but if i ever had a mage come in my party saying he is gonna use Tier 1 heals, i dont even have to explain my party why i kicked him out.sooner rather than later you start to fight monsters that hit your tank for 700+ damage, it would be a joke to say your gonna use tier 1 spells.
Parties usually will have several mages, for example last night we had 3 in party including myself, 2 THM 1 CON, the CON loves to nuke and does good at it, the other THM and I love to be hybrid, so we all end up attacking/debuffing/healing often times the THM being the main healers, point is, if we were using tier 2 spells, it would be interesting to see what happens(which happens often) when we are all casting a nuke or a debuff/buff and our melees go yellow/red HP and we are healing for 200hp with tier 1 instead of 330-360 that our tier 2 THM heal for, 395 or so our CON(he is set up to nuke not heal).I say we all die, its not worth having to worry about having 4 cures in your roster just because you think healing its the best SP ever, you have many spells mainly nukes, use them.
If the monster dies too fast, your in the wrong grinding spot, go find another spot and make sure the mob has good HP to give you chance to attack, or high defense/level so it dosnt die too soon for you to SP off of it, if your party dosnt care because they are all melee and get SP quick, then thats not the party you need to be in.
