THM Guildmarks questionFollow

#1 Oct 23 2010 at 1:43 PM Rating: Good
I just wondered if many people had spent guildmarks on the THM traits 'Driven by Faith' and 'Complete Control'. I bought Driven by Faith today to see what it did because I thought it must be something to the advantage of the THM. I equiped it in the traits bar - takes two points and it says the following:

'Converts an attribute point allocation of PIE +5 to VIT +5'

What on earth does this mean? Or how does it activate?

Not that converting PIE into VIT is necessarily good for a THM (some would argue that it is though). I just wondered was I missing something about this trait?

Now I have Silouette, Driven by Faith and Firm Conviction I'm wondring if I should get Complete COntrol or not, or just save up for Shadowfall, a move I used in Beta that was pretty decent.

I bought Complete Control and Driven by Faith. Supposedly they let you convert points from your skills into points other party members can benefit from. However, I have been unable to understand how to "use" them to help party members...

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Grrr - wasted this:

Intended to be used on other Disciples of War to convert stats favorable to the thaumaturge into stats more useful on other classes.

From:

Driven by Faith

Lol what on earth is the point of this when you can convert using the reassign points button?

lol here is one id like to have, Mind over Matter from pugilist, say that you have 110 mind like me each point 110-111 now costs me 3 stat pointws to increase, but i could use 5 into dex then equip Mind over Matter and it will increase 5 points of MND which would have costed me 15 otherwise but this way it only cost 5.

thats why its favorable to DoW because with 5 piety can inrease 5 VIT which works the same way i just explained above since DoW have high VIT.

hope that helps.

Yeah, I think the point of this would be (if you plan to main Thaum)

level your War jobs to 10 and get their conversion traits to siphon STR into something useful.

You can reassign, but you can't go lower than your base STR, can you?
Well that's what I'd use this for. I'm leveling Glad (mostly farming mats on lowbie mobs) and plan to get Glad traits.

Mmmm...I don't think either of those are worth the guildmarks. Why would you want to switch up +5 piety for +5 VIT? Do you know how much +5 VIT calculates out to HP wise? Not enough to save you... ;p

Pretty worthless imo. There are better ways to spend the guild marks right now. I'll get to those more pointless ones later.

Those types of guildmarks are meant for cross-class customization. Disciples of war that want to improve their stats will be leveling a disciple of magic so they can get these abilities. If you want any worthwhile traits you're gonna have to level a disciple of war.

I was thinking this Obiar.....do you know of similar cross-class traits and what they are called? I don't see them listed in ZAM, although I am probably mistaken...

If you were a THM youd want to have these type of traits, 5vit=35HP on THM and if you had played FF11 youd know that 5HP you didnt have before can save your life, and since your going to increase VIT/MND either way its wise to get traits like these which save you stat points, think of it like an achievment in WOW ppl would not let you in a party given you dont have certain achievements because you suck, sure that wont happen here but its ignorant to say these traits are worthless.

Except it doesn't work that way!

+5 Mind from item/traits isn't the same as +5 Mind from stats!

You will not gain HP from getting +5 VIT from items/traits! Nor will you gain MP from getting +5 MIND from items/traits! You'll get everything else though- For conjurers, 2 mind = +1 HP from heal. You will gain that +1 HP, but you won't get the +MP

good enough given mp is caped at 100MND and going over it isnt increasing my MND only my healing potency, or maybe you havnt tryed putting on the trait w/o having 100MDN already?

As said before, trait can help to gain a bit extra stat for thm.
Still this work better when you love to use a DoW and DoM on the same pg. Hypotetically : you play as thm and gld, whit:
str 100
vit 100
dex 100
int 100
mnd 100
piety 100
with trait, you can convert a portion of mage stats in melee stat if you play gladiator, and viceversa for mage. With that you can convert a lot of a stat in another without reassign anything
