Hi. I'm wondering if aborb-dex, str and so drain more stats based on your int or if its a set number?

nobody has tested enough into these spells to be able to identify this, or lets just say as hard as some ppl(not me) have tested this, i have yet to see anybody who has been able to come with an opinion on this topic.

i'm not sure about int but ive tried to test absorb def thinking it would be the best to benefit me solo and so far i think its broke theres no way to tell how much def you get but i tested it 100 times and it always seemed i would take more dmg when i had the buff.

Using Absorb DEF is not just about giving yourself higher def, in fact in a party situation that isnt much use at all. However as a debuff on the mob I can say that if it lands it makes a significant difference in lowering the defence of the mob which is very usefull. I have not experimented with the other absorb spells yet as I'm still fairly low level but I would imagine they are all usefull on certain mobs. During beta I thought these spells were pretty useless, but as with many things THM my views have changed or are changing.

Just did a couple Abs-Def on random mobs around Tranquil and got nothing reflected in my stats screen.

Probably not the case but make sure you wait a few seconds because the stats screen takes a bit to update

I haven't got figures to back this up, but I have used this spell for solo purposes and the damage the mobs hit you for is reduced, I am certain of this. PIE may be the factor in this spell hitting. If the spell is successful you will see the icon appear on the mob and yourself. If the icon does not appear then the spell failed. Unlike Siphon MP for example, this spell is not 100% by any means and in my current setup I hit the mobs I am fighting (Island crab vs party of 5) around 30% of the time - the spell doesnt last a great amount of time though, I would guess around 30-40 seconds at best. Maybe increasing INT may extend this but I don't know and haven't had the chance to check as of yet.

Firstly congratulations on 26.

I thought that Drain worked by draining hp from the mob and giving you a portion of it. In other words it damages the mob and gives some hp back to you. The amount of damage the mob gets hit with isnt necessarily the hp you receive. I may be wrong on this but wasnt that how it worked in FFXI?

I am also thinking its int based but i only casted it 2-3 times in my MND build and it was horrible, will not be testing int build for this spell myself, if anybody does, please post your feedback.

I confirm that the absorb line of spell are really useful in party.
absorb evasion and absorb defense really make a difference to the melee damage/accuracy.

To your own defense/accurcay though, I don't know, my thm is too low.

In any case, a really useful line of spells so far, I love to party with THM because of them.
