Targeting
Adjustments will be made to target priority when using the Tab key to cycle through nearby targets
When targeting a party member, a target mark will now appear next to the target's name in the party member list
Players will be able to target party members via the party member list

Soon we will be able to heal with EASE!!!

What about a select target macro like we had in FFXI? That's much easier than trying to click on a portrait with a mouse.

One thing I've learned in my time playing MMO's is that the more you can use hotkeys and the less you have to use the mouse, the faster and more efficient you will be performing just about any task, especially healing. WoW healing is, of course, excluded since there are mouse-friendly healing add-ons like Grid and Clique.

I CANNOT WAIT!!!!

ha ha ha ha sorry for the caps
but this is exciting :)

I was playing saturday night and there were 2600 people online on figaro and the lag was horrid.

Healing and targeting was like walking through mud

Frankly, I still find it preferable to just scoot my butt into the scuffle and stand there and spam AoE heals on myself. That way I never have to take my target away from the monster and can just spam darts and radiances between heals.

That works great til you have that one person who refuses to stand in your AoE radius. I'll bet you 100 guild marks he's the first one to complain about not getting cured fast enough, too.

He can complain all he wants; it's his problem!

If they expect me to cooperate and heal, buff, and do damage, I think I'm allowed to expect a little bit of cooperation from him too, eh?

Does the game support macros that will allow us to heal individual team members?

You can create macro to heal the target you select. Not individual party members.

Healing target isn't really an issue since they now allow you to target the people in your party by selecting their name in the party list.

I just click the name in my party list and hit my healing macro and poof that person gets heal.

Easy as 1, 2, 3 :)

It might be a solution for players that use console controllers, I just don't understand why they won't offer target by F-keys. What's their reasoning for not having team mates mapped to F-keys?

Actually team mates have been mapped to F-keys. Unfortunately, only F2-F5 are map to your members. F1 is self target. And F6 is any party member closest to you. In a party greater then 4 its hard to tell who gets mapped to what. I'm hoping they fix that or increase players mapped to the F-keys.

You can see the F-keys map to where here at Lodestone

Am I the only person that healed by way of hotey=>click name in list? This patch totally ruined CON healing for me. Previously I could target the mob, blast away, then hit the healing hotkey and click the name of the party member in need of healing in my list. When I finished that the mob was still targeted. Now, the best I can do is click the name in the lsit first, then hotkey+enter or macro to cure, then re-acquire the mob. Fixing target was a great idea. Messing with subtarget (without fixing its issues) was a terrible idea.

hmm i still have yet to play (waiting for ps3), but sounds like some make healing more complicated than it has to be o.o Like i said i havent played once yet but i would think the pc ppl could scroll the mouse click on the one needing health/buff then just heal/buff with the button u set it to be and move on to others? and with the filter patch for party/mob/npc thingymabob im sure healing SHOULD be alot easier, it cant be that different to hit tab or use the d-pad imo.

How reliable are macros for healing? Are there any lag issues that cause a macro to fail? Is there a way to use a macro to toggle AoE? There are time I would want to quickly swtch to heal the whole team without aving to press that annoying toggle button.
