Hey folks, ive been trying to find information about classes i should level in addition to my lovely THM. I got PUG up to lvl 6, so i got Second Wind. But do you have any other suggestions? Ive yet to find a shield that doesnt cost 200k(im on Bodhum), so i cant afford that yet. LVL18, THM13, PUG6 atm.

Question 2, do discipline of the hand have any benefits when fighting?

PUG is not that useful a subjob to be honest. You should be leveing up CON for many reasons and GLD would be worth it if you plan on using shield. A square maple shield on Besaid will set you back 10-15k and I recently bought a square ash shieild for 36k. Obviously costs vary from server to server.

In answer to question 2 I would say DOH have not many ways of fighting apart from stone throw and wrist flick - thats why they are gathering classes and not fighting classes.

if you plan to play solo or duo with a melee class, eventually you will have to lvl conj up to atleast lvl 16 for Protect/Shell which you MUST have, many enemies after lvl 25(mob lvl not your rank) including several R30 leve monsters will have skills that would hit you for about 800 on a tank and say 1200 on a healer or so, but with a Shell on you that goes down to 250-350 damage, which makes Protect and Shell a requirement for anybody.

But always remember not every monster you go lvl up on will require you to use shell/protect, there is always a mob you will find that does not ask you for those buffs to fight it.

Aggro, can you confirm at your rank that Shell will stick for any decent length of time? During Beta I found that Protect when cast by a THM would stick for a good length before recasting was needed but Shell seemed to be flashing almost as soon as casted. Maybe this was down to my stats (fairly balanced during Beta) or some other factor, I don't know.

I would suggest getting second wind as our ls THM is going to and I also plan to equip it when I lvl THM because sacrifice requires a certain amount of HP to cast we have found ourself near death and our THM friend unable to heal due to not having enough hp to do so with second wind he could have used his spare tp to bring his health up and keep healing.

I also got a lvl 16 buckler from a faction leve as a reward, I plan on going with that for my shield since it works on DoW and DoM :)

I guess you could argue that it's "instant" HPs and Cure is a 2 second cast. But I'd never put Second Wind up while on THM... not worth the APs.

yes you could use cure but if your in a group situation as a thm cure will not be an AoE spell since its being brought over from conjurer so if your healing yourself and your group mates and need a boost second wind will be a great help rather than you casting cure on yourself then using sacrifice to AoE heal your team

Cure is still AoE...

Absolutely Cure is AOE or Single depending on how you set it. For a THM, Sacrifice are my main cure spells with Cure as a backup for those 'oh ^&%$ im in the red and need to heal my tank!' moments :)
