how come people are in the range of 20 -30 already yet the maximum level is 50. this sems to be putting me off as its totally different leveling system to xi which i highly thing was better and more exciting.
the leveling up is just plane boring as in you get a small text in chat box saying rank up. (wow),
they could of made it like xi where it comes up on main screen with a magic feeling to it to make it feel like you earned it.

when im leveling up i check my attribute points and they dont go up unless i buy equipment which is lame.

sorry to be a pain but i think they ruined it and it upsets me because i really enjoyed xi and i am a 100% ff fan.

The leveling system is ultra boring. youre completely right.
I just feel no reward by leveling up. In FFXI you felt soo good. you could buy spells which is perfect.... Just look at FF1: Did you get spells just by gaining a level???
FFXI was old school Final Fantasy and it was perfect. If they wouldnt close the servers of FFXI i would still play it, due to the negative experience in FFXIV. They messed up the whole good system of FFXI instead of improve things which would be alot better. So i dont play an Online FF anymore thanks to SE.

Not sure why this thread is found in Thaumaturge thread?

Persoanlly I found leveing fun so far although very different to leveling in FFXI. I remember during beta they added a large 'DING!' when you ranked up but everyone could hear it from quite e distance away and they seemed to have got rid of it in retail.

Your attribute points go up with increases in Physical rank - at the start this is quite quick - just go check your point allotments from the menu and if you have more than 1 rank in your class you will have accumulated at least 6 per set....

Of course if you dont like the system they have atm then you don't have to play but I would advise you to stick with it for longer and hopefully it will start to grow on you...

i wont be quiting as im doing quite well but i really dont like having to keep going to get my gear repaired. i know its better to do it your self but if you aint got the materials thats a pain in the arse to get aswell. but in a bad way this seems to make the game more realistic.

best advice for people is to look what gear you are going to be using then for the first week just grab the materials to repair so when your miles out in the battlefield and your gear really needs repairing you know you have the stuff to fix them.

It's most likely going to get exponentially harder to lvl. kinda get that feeling when I hear that, at first the storyline quests are about 10 ranks apart, but then they start to be 5, not sure if this is true though. this either means that it just takes you that long to get from one to the next (my belief) or that they ended up with alot of story, and just decided to cram it all together in the later lvls sorry ranks lol. (so confusing to what ppl are really refering too lol >.<) that or the phys lvls are easy to obtain, but it's the ranks that are going to be the goal for end game. like I'm Physical lvl 50! pfft big deal, all my ranks in everything else are 30ish. I kinda figure it that I have to lvl twice as long (or more), the ranks are what matter.
