Conjurer Without INT?Follow

At the moment, I play Conjurer somewhat similar to a Red Mage in FFXI. I "melee" with my cane, and just support myself with buffs and heals. While endgame RDMs do have the ability to nuke, I'm not really using my MP on that. Because of this, I've been wondering if I'm wasting points by upping my INT so much. I don't think anyone is 100% what each stat does and how it effects things, but has anyone even toyed around with the notion of skipping INT all together and going heavier into support stats?

I'm taking a short break and eating lunch and watching TV, so I'm going to keep reassigning points as often as I can and ignore INT for other stats. I'll let you know how bad of a failure this turns out to be =p

Early on that is the way to go Heavy on Vitality, since you aren't using mp anyways just spamming spirit dart. But once you start getting up in level i would suggest re-allocating your points for a more int-mind set.

Might you have any idea when that point in time is? I'm level 19, rank 17 Conjurer at the moment and I deal the same amount of damage with 20 Int or 60 Int. Also Piety does next to nothing for spell accuracy. My M.Acc% is pretty much the same with +0 or +30 Piety.

INT increases Spirit Dart damage, your only form of non-mp attack. Without INT, you're not going to hurt much.

The only non-INT build you could really go is full MND for healing and support. Otherwise, your damage will just be lame (which is a choice, I guess, if you want).

From Jeraziah's experience, it sounds like the mechanics for stats affecting spells is broken.

Interesting read.

I would say focus on the stats depending on your play style.

If you solo a lot, I would recommend spreading out points to VIT, INT and PIET.

If you play with friends in set groups with a proper tank, I would focus more on other stats because you have the luxury to do so.

Nothing is really set in stone and I haven't read too much or seen any theorycrafting for any classes yet so forgive me for any information that could be false.

DPS in group : I would focus purely on INT and points on PIET.

Healer in group : I would go with MND for the extra healing power, magic defense and more mp. Also would put some points into PIET also just for debuffing mobs.
