Synergy QuestionFollow

When doing a synergy recipe, do you need to have all the required craft levels, or will a partner work instead?

For instance, if I wanted to do an Alchemy85/Goldsmithing38 Synergy recipe as a goldsmith, could I simply hire an alchemist to 'assist' and let me use their skill, or would I have to be an alchemy main in order to craft the item?

If your 'helpers' skill counts, is it additive, or does it just take the best? In other words: Would a 60 alchemist and a 25 alchemist be sufficient for 85 alchemy, or would one need an 85 alchemist?

I believe that you could have someone assist who is a Goldsmith, but the skill levels aren't additive.

I think you misread slightly, svlyons. OP could have an 85 alchemist in party (helping, or doing nothing) and be fine. You are correct that the skills are not additive. Highest level of each craft is what counts.

Just wanted to add that there are synergy recipes that require at least two different 90+ crafts, so you will certainly have to hire someone to help for those recipes.

It's good to know a few people with pretty high craft skills and if they mostly have their subs capped then it's even better.
I have been checking out the recipes for lvl 70+ synergy and it's terrible if you want to find something that will give you skill to 80 without being a vetran of any craft yourself.
