Since I usually do things backwards and hit myself when I realize there was a better way thought I would ask.

Here is my path to 80 for synergy and if there is anything better please let me know.

Mythril nugget 0-50 (using earth fewell)
Platinum nugget 50-70 (using earth fewell)
Fisherman's stall 70-80

Synergy

1. I went ahead and trained feed fewell and not finding much information on what to train next. Seems furnace thwacking and safety lever would be good. Any ideas?

2. When crafting an item say a smock/stall. Do I need to worry about impurities? If not, when does this come into play?

Cooking

1. Current level is 95. I looked over recipes and seems nopales salad is doable to 98 followed by cursed soup or red curry to 100. My highest job is a nin 68 so the one item that will need to be farmed is nopales (common-logging) in Fort Karugo-Narugo. I checked logging map and will need to run all over. Will I encounter mobs/NM's that are to high for me? Just planning so I don't waste time.

2. I've never fully understood the correct day to craft or direction needed to face. I have read under sticky under general tab. Those post are very old. Is it still for skilling/HQ day of week your crystal is weak to or has it changed? So if using a fire crystal you would craft on Watersday???

Fishing

1. As I'm working my way to ebisu rod I have made a list of things I need. Such as albatross ring, pelican ring, stall, etc...I came across another well geared fisher that said dont bother with signpost just get a stall. In regards to meg moglification. This guy has sold a ton of rings puffin, noddy so believe this is all he does. From seeing the AH he has made close to 10million so I am tempted to believe that the impact from furniture other than the stall is very minimal. I was saving gp for signpost, now I'm not sure if I should still do. Any advice?

That would be correct. I have a hunch that Furnace Repair will be useful in the far future, but presently, the three skills you mentioned are the only worthwhile ones.

The impurity ratio is directly related to the chance of your furnace exploding. The higher the ratio, the more likely it will try to explode. I found it's best to keep it under 30%. No one knows if the final impurity ratio affects the result of your synthesis. There is no specific recipe in which impurity ratio is important.

Fort K-N is a higher level zone, but you should be relatively safe at level 75+. I would still recommend sneak/invis for higher levels though.

This is a difficult question to answer. My response is Direction, Day, Moon Phase, and the color of your boxers/panties does not affect the result of your synthesis. See long answer below.

Fishing skill is nigh worthless. With the right fishing rod, it is possible for someone with level 0 skill to pull in a level 80 fish. The fisherman's stall gives a bonus beyond just a straight skill boost. Of course, fishing is easier at higher levels, but it's not so important that you should prioritize it over other special bonuses such as the stall.

Synthesis Theory
As seen in my sig, I have done a lot of crafting. Throughout every crafting attempt, I have never seen a significant difference based on the direction I face or the day I craft on. Others will tell you otherwise, making your question difficult to answer. The truth of the matter is that no one, and I mean no one, has been able to produce results that show a significant boost to their skill up rate or HQ results based on the day/direction/whatever. As I have given up on wasting time waiting for the theoretical "perfect" environment, I can no longer give you the current crafting theory. The only fact that has ever been proven is the presence of HQ tiers.

You can follow the guides if you wish. In theory, it can't hurt. It'll take you 3 seconds to turn your character before crafting out a huge batch of items. The day and moon phase ideas require waiting and only allow a short window, but that's it.

Hmm fishing is a lot easier at higher levels as you will find you can pull up some fish without issue where as you may have struggled before.

Ebisu quest fish still seem hard for me and I have an Ebisu but I am putting that down to the speed at my pc works.
My pc is too fast aparently.

Fishing skill definitely makes a difference. Theoretically it's true, a level 0 fisherman can catch a level 80 fish, good luck with that in practice though unless you're running a fishing bot.

In my experience it means the difference between having to sit at my keyboard and frantically tap keys to reel in a fish, or being able to watch TV with a controller in hand and casually look at my computer monitor across the room every bite to reel in the same fish.

For the cooking part of the OP, I found Nopales Salad to not be worth the time. I spent far too much time harvesting nopales and a lack of buyers for the resulting salad. I ended up using the 12 I crafted on COR, with decent, though unremarkable results. In other words, toss that salad^^.

Instead, you might want to look at Dawn Muslum. It caps at 97 and should make a profit on every batch you make. Easy to acquire ingredients, with nothing too costly either. This recipe is pure win. Oh, and BSTs will love you.

I tried Red Curry and Cursed Soup to get to 100, finding Red Curry to be the better way to go. You need more seed capital (dragon meat at ~20k per synth), but made money on every batch save the one where I had 2 breaks (back to back). And of course, turn the red curry to buns.

Cursed Soup was expensive (Persikos and Kitron both @ 30k+ stack) and the difficulty in getting large quantities of royal jelly had me quit this receipt after the 25 royal jellies I had been farmed up thanks to all the bess I killed in Waj Woods for Magian trials.

TL:DR - skip Nopales Salad. Do Dawn Muslum to 97 and Red Curry to 100.

Wanted to give a small update on how things have worked so far.

I followed the plan listed and was able to reach 80 on synergy. I did sometimes 5 skillups a day or more depending on time so wouldn't get burned out. I used the furnaces outside of mog house in wind waters. I found it easier to run into mog house to heal until I needed whm for cure poison at lvl 70 making fisherman's stall. My whm is only lvl 21

Pinch, thank you for that excellent idea on cooking. The guides I had looked at must of been outdated didn't see that mentioned dawn muslum once. I'm now lvl 97 and will buy dragon meat as I can. It took me about 4 stacks to get the 2 skillups 95-97...

So counting at last 6 stacks of dragon meat the minimum cost to get to 100 is....... 72x 20,000 for a grand total of 1,444,000 so roughly 1.5 mill. This will take me awhile to raise, but like knowing what is needed.

Now just need to get to lvl 75, do cop for access to lufaise meadows so I can finish that side for ebisu. Been a good week. Love it when a plan comes together

Good to hear the cooking info helped.

As for Dawn Muslum, that is a fairly new recipe, so it was not on a lot of people's radar until recently.

For the Red Curry, don't forget that you can turn your results into Red Curry Buns. They sell very well, and should get the occassional HQ result for even more profit.

The challenge on making Red Curry and then converting them to Buns is space. Curry Powder doesn't stack, and neither does Red Curry and Sandy Flour for the buns. So make lots of space, or do them in stages.

As for ebisu, good luck with that. That's a whole new level of committment far beyond high level cooking and synergy.
