With the new lv99 Job cap on the horizon does anyone think SE will do anything with crafting? We already have items (across all crafts) that seem to be (or are) above the current 100 level cap for crafts...

For all that new equipment to fill the gap from 75-99 maybe SE in all their wisdom will open up more crafting opportunities. Maybe even relaxing the restrictions of Sub-Crafts and a new item having requirements like 100 Wood and 90 Gold, something currently impossible to reach.

Allowing synergy to reach 100 is something that I feel is very likely.

I don't normally do speculation threads, but everyone seems to be talking about how useless their current equipment will be, I'm wondering where our new equipment will be coming from! (Hopefully me ^^)

Any major crafting updates will probably come through synergy. A 100/90 synth could technically be achieved here, inconvenient as it may be to perform at times.

Exceeding 100 in a craft is not necessary, another whole hundred levels for only lv 75-99 is a bit much. I'd assume a lot of the good gear for 75-99 are going to be from drops and rewards so no one would bother and 90-100 in a craft is pain enough for it to be the final road. Allow 200 in Woodworking and the HQ elemental staves will fall like rain, tarnishing the value where supply will be too much and ruining the profit that lv 100 Woodworkers worked hard for.

Just give lv 75-99 gear recipes for the craft levels that we have now. Multiple crafts can be involved to make the finished product, some of them being too high for one character to make so it helps the economy to have each other involved that revolves on a single product. Erlking's Sword for example, requires leather from a 81 leather crafter for a smith to craft the finished product. That sword caps at 67, so if the smith have 100 in smithing then he can't make the sword alone unless he have 80-80 in smithing and leathercraft. SE can just expand on that concept even more for lv 76+ gear.

Yeah I never realisticly expected SE to increase crafting past 100, that was just a catchy title ;)

Synergy to 100 though, that is something I can see happening.

Seriha has a good point though, technically a 100 Wood/90 Gold synth is possible if you team up in Synergy. I just need to find a good Bonecrafter as my Bone friend has quit :/ The rest are pretty much covered except;
Gold, my Mule is 78 at the moment, and my mate in the LS with Wood (Currently 92ish I think) will have to get that finished so I can have gold (mule) and a Woodworker.

Ahh, a catchy title. I noticed just now you're 100 in WW so I know you'd understand, sorry for lecturing lol. I think I saw in the update notes of synergy getting more levels but I'm not sure and I do see that possible. Haven't tried synergy myself to say much on it other than knowing it can be teamed up, it does sound interesting of teaming up in the regular crafts.

From the third part of Elmer's VanaFest write-up:

Quote:
Trial of the Magians is a set of quests for Level 75 characters that allow them to improve their existing weapons, armor and skills. Players choose an area they wish to improve and must complete a corresponding quest to obtain their selected enhancement. The five categories shown at VanaFest were

- Weapons

- Armor

- "Livelihood Skills" i.e. Crafting Skills

- "Adventuring Skills" i.e. Player Stats

- "3rd set of strongest weapons" i.e. enhancing Relics and Mythics into a new set of ultimate weapons.

Synergy is a huge place for them to add new synths to, without having to change much of anything else. However, I wouldn't put it past them to lower current synth level reqs to add in new 76-99 lvl items. I mean its not that huge a leap, what with everything changing with the level cap, why not?

Though synergy still sounds more likely.

Speaking of new synergy additions, I vaguely recall seeing a speculation about the possibility of combining elemental staves. Would be great for my inventory if it ever comes true.

When I saw the "Trial of the Magians" not about crafting skills, I did start to think how they might apply that to the current system.

I'm wondering if the 40 skill points over 60 cap might be changing. What if you could get 2 or 3 crafts to 100?

This could work with synergy as well, making it easier for fewer people to do the hardest recipes.... you know, easier after they skill up to 100 more than once... :)

There's ranks for up to 150 or 160 iirc. Can't go beyond that though.
