I'm paranoid about being banned for gardening on a mule, just because I read posts from people saying they were banned.

I have a mule with porcelain pots and maple tables, which I used to garden with. First of all, are you gardening on a mule and not getting banned? What do you think. Is it safe to do that?

Otherwise, I was thinking of moving my gardening stuff to my most active character, but the maple tables have element earth. Even though they give moghancement gardening, ms moogle says the moghouse is filled with overwhelming earth energy. So, will the earth element serve to block desynthesis, crafting with lightning crystals and make me more subject to lightning damage etc.?

I've been gardening on my main plus 4 mules for at least 5 years now. I didn't take a break during the big gardening ban. I have yet to be banned. Many believe that the ban is tied to NPCing stuff to a specific NPC just outside Bastok Mines mog house.

Nothing is safe in FFXI anymore Smiley: sly but the chance of being banned for gardening on a character that is not used for/involved in RMT activities is small.

I've been gardening on mules since day one (over 6 years ago) and never had problems. I used to garden for crafting items (such as food ingredients, goldsmithing nuggets/leafs, woodworking beads, ...). Since the ToAU update, I am taking it the easy way (read 'too lazy to spend much time with gardening anymore') and I'm just gardening on 5 mules with 10 pots each using the famous wildgrass recipe. All profits are sold to the nearest NPC except the Gysahl Greens (those I use in a desperate effort to skill up my chocobo digging ability on my main).

So far, I haven't had any problems, warnings or signs of being banned or under investigation for RMT activity.

I do have to say, however, that all of my mules are more or less 'active' characters, in that I did level them all to lvl 20 with a suitable sub at lvl 10 and approprate gear and I use most of them as dedicated crafters (one craft per mule). No naked level 1 WARs without a subjob for me. All of them also have done sufficient quests to obtain hero fame in their home town. Not sure if that is taken into account with the RMT SWAT team to consider a character be banned or not.

Unless you engage in other RMT related activities or are really unfortunate to be picked out by the SWAT's team dubious filters... I think you are safe to garden Smiley: nod

What do you think about the elemental strength issue. If I put furniture in the mog house of a character that I'm crafting on does the elemental strength effect things. For example, the maple tables that result in moghancement gardening, but the moogle says there is overwhelming earth energy. By having that furniture am I enhancing or blocking the effectiveness of crafting using earth crystals, or enhancing or blocking the effectiveness of earth based magic, defense against fiends that are strong to/weak to earth etc.?

Some people think the elemental energy in your mog house can affect your crafting results. I don't think I've ever seen any testing to show how the elemental energy of your furniture does or doesn't affect crafting.

My anecdotal evidence is that I failed to synth bees wax 5 out of 6 times, on firesday with advanced alchemy support when I had a red jar as furniture, with alchemy level 22.

But, the red jar gives moghancement fire. The gardening stuff has moghancement gardening, but element earth.

Moghouse aura only refers to the strength of the moghancement.
Just look at earth-based crafting skills. Woodworking furniture is earth based. Veteran woodworkers would curse SE to **** and back if their guild furniture would hurt their desynth rates...
