So areentire zone's affected by fatigue? Two days in a row and I cannot land a single gigant squid. Yes there are a lot of fishers but did not think fatigue hit the actual zone. If so when does IT reset? I am not fatigued, high enough level, have not caught a squid in almost 2 days. I have a Lu and sliced cod/minnow. Any suggestions? Not like I can pick a different zone to fish these up....

Yes, zones have a limit on the amount that can be caught. I believe it recovers over time, similar to chocobo digging.

Are you doing the Fishing Contest by any chance? I believe a new round started this week, and it might be the contest fish for this round.

Silly question but you are at the cliff north of Delkfutt's tower, yes? That is the only cliff in Qufim with squid. Other than that, a body of water (or collective bodies of water) do have a certain amount of fish that they will hold that gradually respawn as they are drawn out. So more fishers in the same area do affect one another.

There is an additional effect of zone fatigue which kicks in after you have been in a zone for about an hour. Your catch rate will bottom out basically. Zoning refreshes this.

Also keep in mind that I believe you cannot catch 200 gigant squid in one day. The daily cap of fish can vary from types. I don't recall how many squids you are allowed off the top of my head.

And there are different zones where you can catch gigant squid. The coast in Glacier shares the same sea as Qufim and there is a nearby Pso'Xja tower you can duck into for zoning. But the initial run to is a bit long, and obviously the coast is patrolled by stronger beasties than you will find in Qufim.

The Glacier doesn't have the goblins roaming the coastline unlike Qufim.

The bite rate depends on moon phase too. Nashmau during full moon, the fishes were biting like crazy and I got 3 full skill levels. During quarter moon, I get maybe 3 bites in 20 minutes even if I'm the only one fishing.
